Advice on length, brake size

I am planning on picking up a pair of LINE Chronics. I was recommended that i get them with the length of 178cm but that sounds like they might be a bit long for me. I am a relatively advanced skier, I mainly stick to the groomers but occasionally go off piste when we get some fresh snow (im located near ottawa, ont.) and would like to get into some more park. Im 5'8 , 145 lb. So is that the right length for me or should i go with 171cm?
As for bindings i was thinking griffons but with the chronics having a waist width of 92mm and the griffons brakes coming in 90 or 110mm, im not sure if 90mm will to too small! Will 90mm brakes work for me? recommendations or other bindings?
Thanks for any help in advance!

Depending on if you are still growing or not, you could really go either size. For now, i wouldn't be too over zealous and just stick with 171s. If you really commit time to park the 171 may be a better choice. If you do a lot outside of park the 178 may not be a bad option. I think you could be fine with the 90mm griffon brakes, may need a small bend, but usually there are 100mm brakes available on sites and probably your shop. The 110mm brake will be a little wide, id stay away from them

I am 5'8 160 lbs and ride 172cm skis and they work fine. Honestly its personal preference on what length ski to get so I would base it on what ski length you are coming off of and what kind of riding you will be doing over the season. As well, I would go with the 90mm brakes and slightly bend them to accommodate to the ski.

I am coming off of a set that were 157cm (been procrastinating on getting new ones for years). And i am definitely not going to be growing any more. So based off what your saying i think ill go with 171cm, much less of a jump in sizes.

I'm about your size (5'7 130lbs) and have rode 170-180 park skis for the last 10 years. I honestly can't tell a huge difference with them center mounted, but I prefer the lower 170 range for my pure park skis. All mountain and pow skis are 180+
If you are 70/30% all mountain/park I would go 178. If 50/50% or more park I would go 171.

Id go either, I've always preferred longer as even though I'm mostly a park skier I appreciate the extra grip on east coast ice/the chronics got a bit of rocker. Ultimately its up to you. The 90mm brakes work on the chronics just fine, I sold them to my buddy (I work at Kunstadts in Ottawa!!) and at a centre mount they just fit, always go with the narrowest possible. Also we sell 2 brakes for 40$ from marker so you can get both if you're a guy who breaks brakes a lot!
