SladeSkiNo experience with I/OX, but I've had a smith maze and I/O goggles for a few years. I've often wished that I had the I/OX to close the gap between the goggles and helmet. They will definitely fit fine. No problems with the strap under the helmet.
I love the smith maze, it's ridiculously light and I find it looks good.
I looked through my pictures to find some of me wearing them, but all I could find is this one from the side. Hope it helps somewhat.. haha
.complexI have both the maze and iox's. In my opinion they look better together than any other goggle/helmet combo. If you need something for reference just watch any of Sam Zahner's past year edits where he wore a helmet a lot more
-notch-thanks guys, +k for the help
got two more questions, is the indent in the sides/ ear area noticeable? or is it just more defined in product photos? and what would be a good size for a beanie goggle and thin balaclava under the helmet
.complexThat "indent" thing isn't all that noticeable I guess, but if anything it gives the helmet a little shape so it's not bulbous. idk, I think the maze is the best looking helmet out there but that's just me. And it really depends on the size of your head, I'd use their sizing chart online, and measure it with your beanie and balaclave on. I wear a large and my head really isn't all that big. depends on you
-notch-alright thanks for the help man, i watched the zahner edit and the gogs and helmet look dope together, almost no gap.
also does the goggle strap in the back come off or no? not a big deal but just wondering
.complexwhat do you mean by come off?
-notch-like removable, is it permanent? like built in to the helmet or can it be taken off
.complexif you mean the clip that holds the strap on, yeah you can take it off
-notch-can't thank you enough man
baggis123if youre going to wear the goggles under the helmet i would recommend the io-7s. I have both and my iox are just too big and look kinda wierd. but yeah the maze is a sick helmet
Connor_SullivanI find I/O7s to be the most comfortable I/O series goggle I've ever had or worn, its bigger than the I/O yet it's not overly big and bulky. The outriggers on the goggle also are pretty nice because they allow the frame to be angled independently from the strap so it will have a better fit with your helmet when your wearing the strap under your helmet
