Flying next to obese people

What do you do when you're forced to sit next to a grossly obese person on an airplane and have their rolls oozing over into your seat?

This guy is sueing an airline for back injuries from not being able to sit in his seat properly due to the hunk of lard next to him.

Should airlines have an obese person row with larger seats and they pay more to fly and get shoved next to each other?

Don't most airlines already have a "big person" policy? If you can't fit into your seat, you have to pay for two.

There was all that press a couple years ago when Kevin Smith got kicked off his flight for not fitting in the seat, but I don't know if the policy is actually ever enforced anymore.

They sweat so damn much as well. I just hate how there was the lawsuit the other year by a couple fat people who were pissed that they had to pay for two tickets to get two seats, they said everyone should get enough space for the same price.

The first time I saw this, I realised why half of America is overweight. I don't understand how anyone can justify obesity as being healthy, it is obviously incredibly detrimental to ones health. At least it makes our lives easier in a zombie apocalypse.

As someone's who is 6'4, so much this.

My knees were already crammed up against the seat on my last flight and then an elderly, tiny Indian couple sat in front of me. Like, the shortest people on the plan. I thought to myself "sweet, tiny people. My knees are saved." They proceeded to immediately slam the seats all the way back. At least my flight was only 3-4 hours...

both parties are at fault. Unless that dude needs surgery or struggles through life now, hes yet another vulture perpetuating another frivilous lawsuit. It says he underwent a medical examination, yet no more info came out of it. The dude just wants a few quick bucks cuz he had a bad flight. Fuck him.


I do agree we need to make compromises on shit, and fat people need to recognize that their unhealthy lifestyles may cause issues to people around. Its very selfish of them to assume we all need to make accomodations for them, and that its someones fault their ass is to big to fit in the seat cuz they cant stop fucking eating big macs.

Some shit is just dangerous for fatties, we'd get large people irate with us because they were too fat to go ziplining at a previous job. Shit was lols.

I called this peace of shit grandpa out on a flight back from san fran. His grandson was well behaved and he's the one jumping around in the seat. Keeps fucking moving, slammed my knees twice. I think he was surprised but honestly I really am not a dick to people but this guy really needed a slap in the face.

F that. I actually held a persons seat upright for a full flight cross country. They started to go back and I just pushed them right back up and held it from Denver to Baltimore. I said "excuse me there isn't enough room for you to put your seat back" but the persistent a-hole kept on trying for the entire flight. Don't know if I'll ever fly commercial again but I'd consider that seat clip deal if I ever do.

Sat beside a fat fuck yesterday morning. Lqtm when he asked for a belt extender. Was first class (/claim) so I didn't have to deal with his rolls.

Have any of the tall people bitching about legroom flown on some foreign airlines with zero leg room (vueling, tiger air are the ones I've been on). I'm 5'11" with longish legs and I cannot fit in those fuckers comfortably. Not to mention if someone puts the seat back. I can't imagine any bigger and having to deal with that

Once had to sit next to a lardball on a 4 hour flight. Of course, he smelled like shit, and was practically on top of me, but was also playing Clash of Clans almost the entire time with the volume all the way up. I could still hear it super clearly even though he had headphones on. I still get extraordinarily pissed off when ever I hear the sound of one of those stupid ass goblins being deployed.

I was on an American airlines flight and 20 mins into the flight, this guy looks around and moves over to this huge seat that looks like it was for obese people.

Im tall enough that I can't really sit next to a big person but I do my own thing on flights I usually get on last and occupy an entire row.

THe one time I got stuck in the middle between 2 fat people one of them super obese was in 2011 flying from Vancouver to Phoenix (first of 3 flights that day backc to Boston.) In the fat guys defense you could tell he felt really bad about being fat and on an airplane and tried to squeeze his lard in and not get too cuddly. The Bruins had just won the Stanley CUp and I went to the game too so it wasn't the end of the world.

You need permission from the person behind you to recline your seat? Get the fuck outta here. I fly all the time for work and if someone bitched at me for not asking before I reclined my seat I would literally laugh in their face.

If you're so tall that you can't fit into the seat then cough up the money for economy plus, business class, or first class. Same as a fat person should pay for two seats if they can't fit into one. Like hell I am going to get your permission before I recline my seat.
