Barefootin_Fiendi don't really see what the big deal is. I laughed. The animal is fine. Pretty sure the moose is not going to go blow it's brains out because of this.
.Hugo.Why are prople so upset over this? The moose is fine and unharmed. That was hilarious and i cant decide if that dude has giant balls or is incredibly stupid.
Mar-OI wouldn't be surprised if that could have ended up killing the moose out of stress. I know its normal for deer to die out of stress when being chased by dogs and such. I would think this is normally not something that can happen with a bigger animal like the moose but when pushed so hard to trying to get away in the water I would think it could happen to a moose to. And besides you would be pissed if someone hurt a dog even if it didn't end up killing it.
Inb4 I'm wrong, well maybe I am since I'm no moose expert but no matter what way you look at it this is still animal abuse.
.Hugo.I have never heard of a deer dying from being chased. once theyre in safetly they will recover. The only stress related death ive heard of in deer is capture myopathy
Mar-OStress and exhaustion probably kills more deers than actual dog bites when they are being chased. Do a google search and I'm sure you will find plenty of articles about it since allot of dog owners thinks its okay to lett their dogs chase wild deer and other animals. Also allot of them end up dying after the chase because they are still stressed and wont calm down even if they have managed to get to a safe place.
VinnieFI'm gonna call BS on this. Deer species would be extinct long ago if every time they escape a predator they drop dead from exhaustion or stress.
I'm sure it has and can happen, but very rarely and either because they were somewhere enclosed or with limited space, because of preexisting health condition/very young/old, or because of injuries sustained while being chased.
Let's not forget one of the largest selective pressures on animals, especially herbivores, is whether they can survive getting chased by a predator. Once could say that other than adapting to environmental conditions, being able to fuck, and being able to feed, the other main thing an animal like a deer has been bred to do is to escape a motherfucking dog without dying.
Mar-OAs said do a google search if you dont belive it. It's pretty common knowledge around where I live and something I hope most people are aware off, and never did I say they it happens every time they get chased.
In this case with the moose the moose had no chance of escaping, it also must have used allot more energi trying to escape through the water like that than it would have ever used if something scared it in the woods. In my mind at least there is no doubt that chasing a moose like that through the water will eventually result in it collapsing.
Here is a random link from google, I'm sure you can find allot more legit articles but this one was the fist I clicked on.

.Hugo.Nearly every single article i found is about deer in an enclosure... those animals are already under a lot of stress and and cant escape a predator. its completely different in the wild. A deer will easily outrun a dog every time
Oh look those deer were in an enclosre
Mar-OWell yeah no shit there is bigger chances of it happening in a situation where they can't escape and there won't be as many people writing about something that happens in the wild. That sure as hell dosen't mean it dosen't happen in the wild to though, yes in most cases a deer will outrun a dog relatively fast and will be fine but thats not always the case. And I would also think it depends on where it happens, if it's a place where deers have a lot of natural predators so that they are used to getting chased they will probably have allot smaller chances of dying from stress afterwards. However I am sure we can all agree that a moose is not used to getting chased by a motor boat and having a man jump on his back in a place where there is now way to escape.

ThaLoraxYou guys need to take a biology class or an evolution class. Animals dying of exhaustion is thought to be the original the ways humans learned to hunt before we had tools. It's called "persistence hunting" and humans used to run/walk/track quadrupedal animals until they literally died of exhaustion. Unlike quadrupedal animals, humans can sweat/persperate WHILE we exert ourselves. (Most) Quadrupedal animals need to slow down in order to pant/persperate properly. If you do not give an animal a chance to pant/persperate, it will overheat and die of exhaustion. So yes, it is very possible for a deer or moose to die of exhaustion.
ThaLoraxSo yes, it is very possible for a deer or moose to die of exhaustion.
Barefootin_Fiendsure, but it's going to take a hell of a lot longer that 60 seconds to do so......if moose dropped dead after that little stress, the species would have gone extinct a long time ago.

VinnieFActually we're really talking any other animals but humans. Humans are an exception to pretty much everything. There's a reason we've built mother fucking space ships.
.Hugo.Hey guess what, we're talking about dogs chasing the deer/moose. It just so happens that a dog needs to stop and pant, just like the deer and moose.
ThaLoraxActually, this thread is about humans. It's about humans riding a moose. So it literally could not be more about humans unless it was a human riding a human and that's reserved for beeg.com
ThaLoraxHey guess what? That may be true, but Dogs evolved domestically alongside humans and can cover more distance in one day than most any other animal. Humans, Horses, and Dogs are three of the highest endurance animals in the animal kingdom and two of the three have been domestically evolved alongside the third for thousands of years.
To be fair, this video is hilarious and I am sure the Moose was just fine. Anybody that does something this stupid deserves the punishment though.
