JustGoWithItJust for future reference so the shop doesn't get confused the correct term is "true center". You can find it by simply measuring from tip to tale and dividing by 2. I have mine mounted -2 and I LOVE them. Kartels are a great park ski, but are capable of so much more. So having them mounted back a bit is nice.
You made a good choice going with those skis.
tomPietrowskiJust measure it. The amount infront of the recommended mark will change size to size but on the 186 it was somthing like 3cm infront if I remember rightly. You don't need to center that ski though so maybe go -1cm or even -2cm and you may prefer that mount. I had my jmo's -2cm and they felt great.
zeachgodI probably would mount -2 from true center if I didn't ride much park but my hill is just a park and I only go to the mountains a handful of times a year. I mounted my al dentes true center and loved them and they're the same underfoot as kartels. But thanks for the input Tom
.lenconIt won't hurt to go center and I've ridden a pair at center and it makes them super playful. I don't know of anyone who actually rides them center. Even Karl hast them at -1 I'm pretty sure
tomPietrowskiMorello rides his centered and I'm actually reviewin his pair of kartel 98's in the next couple of weeks. It will be the first time I have ridden a centered pair so it will be quite interesting to see how they ride.
.lenconI thought he had 106s? Also he told me he was going to move his back to -2 when I talked to him. I know John kutcher rides his 98s and 106s and -2 as well though.
tomPietrowskiHe rides the prestor, kartel 98 and 106. This year he had them all centered but he may be moving back slightly on te larger skis. Center was not really working for him unfortunatly.
