selfiejesusI know that Mayweather is going to win, seeing as the fact he's undefeated, but I don't like him as a person, seeing as that he's been to jail multiple times on account of domestic abuse, so I'd like to think that Pacquiao would win.
theabortionatorDon't paint anything that says bonnaroo on your car unless you're rolling completely clean. That's like a billboard that says "pull me over and fuck with me"
Get there early. The traffic depends but it can be as much as a 15 hour traffic jam getting in. In 09 I think I waited 8 or 9.
Be careful in the venue. Be on the watch for cops on atvs. They'll ride up and down the roads then sprint into peoples campsites and start handing out tickets. Fucking cash grabbing pigs.
BRING LOTS OF WATER. Bonnaroo is one of the hottest festivals out there. You need to stay hydrated. On the plus they have wells they fill in Centeroo. You can refill your water for free. Throughout the day a lot of them run out, sometimes by the headliners there will only be 2 spigots with water and can be a half hour line. You can buy a bottle of water in centeroo for 2 bucks which isn't bad. Also near the latenight stages they have mister tents. By the second day they'll be mud city but if you need to cool down it's awesome.
Bring plenty of tarps. IF you can run a tarp over your tent from your easy up. Keep the tarp spaced away from your ten about a foot to keep airflow in between. If the tarp is touching your tent it will heat up. This will allow you to sleep till 9 or even 10 am sometimes if done right. If not it's going to be 100 in your tent at like 730.
Bring an easy up. IF you don't have one buy one. Don't buy the shitty $50 ones. They will not last. Spend at least 100 and take care of it. I made it 3 or 4 years and 30 ish festivals on one easy up before I had to grab another.
Bring plenty of booze in with you. No glass bottles though. If you have glass bottle liquor put them in plastic or they will confiscate them in the search going in. IF you smoke buy a carton. They're 40/45 bucks in TN and cigs are 17 a pack inside the venue because bonnaroo is run by greedy assholes.
Bringing a grill might be a good idea. Then you can bring your own food and keep from having to walk to the vendors and saving a fuck ton of money. If you bring a lot of food you might want to keep some dry ice in one of the coolers because TN is hot. That said you can buy ice at fests and it's fucking worth it to keep beer and food cold.
When you get there figure out where your site is. The whole fest is mapped out in small blocks. Each block has a name. If you can right it on your arm or inside of your leg in sharpie. If you end up really fucked up or just lost it's nice to know where you are camped. Walk around a little bit when you first get there and figure out where things are, how to get to and from your campsite. IT's very very easy to get lost. Bonnaroo is fucking huge. Knowing you way around a bit before you get fucked up, and having the name of your camping area written on yourself can save you some struggles.
Not sure if you've been to festivals before, if not.
Talk to your neighbors. Offer them a beer or bowl when you get there. Hang out with them, watch each others stuff, etc. Great way to make some friends.
Pace yourself. There are multiple days, and a fuck ton of bands.
I'd advise getting a good night sleep the first night, maybe even getting there on wed. If you go into that fest on little sleep you're going to have a rough time. Music going from 11 to 6 or 7 am. And at 7:30 it's already getting hot and hard to sleep in your tent.
Things changed a bunch and it's more of a pain in the ass getting into centeroo. Allow some extra time so you don't miss your favorite bands. Check out some bands you've never heard of. Maybe ask some other people if there are any good bands that you don't know of to scope out.
When you leave be careful on the drive home. After partying in a field for 5 days sometimes you're very tired, and it can be dangerous. If you're too tired pull over at a rest area, or get a hotel. I've had friends get into bad accidents leaving fests.
If you do molly at all, buy a test kit from dancesafe or bunkpolice in advance. So much fake stuff out there especially at the bigger fests like bonnaroo these days Those tests cost about 20 bucks and you can get around 50 tests out of it.
Most of all, be safe, and have fun.
