cydwhitUsually pretty good, this year the snow sucked and it was weak but usually it's a good time. Generally a big jump line in Stomping Grounds, the Chair 2 mound built around 50 ft and a nice selection of jibs and rails. Smaller South Park usually has a small jump line and a small jib line and then a little park on the bunny hill with some boxes. Again, that's on a usuall year, not this one. Feel free to look through my pics and videos, most of them, them especially the older ones are from Schweitzer. I'll be leaving before next season but I've had a great few years here. Hopefully Caleb E will chime in with his opinion.
Also, don't come to Schweitz just for park, we have some great stuff all around the mountain.
SkiEveryDay1Pictures are sick! Is there a pretty big skiing community up at UofI that you know of?
Squirrel_MurphyI've always wanted to go there. I hear the tree skiing is a ton of fun on a pow day? Hopefully this coming winter I'll make it out.
californiagrownBe prepared to use the force while skiing 50% of the days there haha. to this day my top 3 foggiest, most disorientating days of my life have occured at schweitzer haha. Ive gone knee to face more than a few times while skiing down the ridgline to the trees lookers left of lakeview in zero visibility haha.
For the love of god, make sure your low light goggle lense game is on point.
Other than that, schweitzer is a fun little mountain. The steep stuff is short but very fun and it has a bunch of really fun zones and cliffs to slay.
The tough part is that it is 3 hours minimum from Moscow on super dangerous highway... especially when it gets icy and snowy. Ive seen some horrific shit on that highway, and been apart of a lot of brutal white knuckle driving.
Also, ponderay is racist as fuck from my limited experience there.

cydwhitSki "team" is mostly gapers. Couple of frat boys ride but I never ski with them. Couple of legit kids that I'm buds with and plenty of slayer locals but not what I would call a strong or vibrant scene

Squirrel_MurphyWhen do ya'll think the best time of season would be to go?
-wakes-Park has been improving over the last few years, but I think the tree skiing is what you should be excited about! Schweitzer is about 3-3.5 hours away from Moscow which kinda sucks but it isn't bad. Plenty of people ski, but it is hard to rally people sometimes. Hope your stoked for college. Go Vandals!

Wakes you go to U of I? we took some laps together a couple years ago , not sure if you remember.
-wakes-I just graduated and moved to Boise. Was it me or my brother matt? My name is Andrew haha.
