CRV Diff Squeak

Crazy Fool

So ever since this past summer my 2001 Honda CRV has been having an issue with the diff, whenever my I spin my tires on dirt (doing a mad drift) theres a consistent squeaking noise that seems to be coming from my differential. I just got it back from my mechanic and he said he changed the diff fluid but I just got back and tested it and it still squeaked, he said we might just have to change out the whole diff, curious if anyone has an idea as to what it could be.

I don't know anything about the CRV, but could it be the bearings? You'd have to do some work to get to them, but no matter what, I think the problem will need some work considering changing the fluid didn't help. Maybe it's time for an upgrade (or a replacement). It may be cheaper than the man hours of rebuilding and solving the problem...if it even is solvable, which then you'd be out even more $$$.

Yeah its possible we just replace it, my mechanic did sway bar links and the bushings to reduce a rattle it had but thats it apart from an oil change and the diff fluid. Ill keep reading up on it.
