Best Shotgun mic for under 150?

I was looking at the rode vm, the pro is too much for me. But it's there a better microphone for under 150?

I actually got my VMP for 160 brand new, I bet if you were patient you could get it for under 150 used.

It means there are no differences between like a used camera and a used mic. There is just normal wear and tear on it which should not affect it unless specified.

Rode Videomic Pros are the best, ive heard good things about the cheaper Rode Videomic Go too.

the videomic go works relatively well, but wind noise is a huge issue with it (even with a deadcat)
- will work awesome though if you pair it with your smartphone and RODE's RODErec app and record off camera audio

if you want to record on camera audio then dont bother though, go with the pro

There should not be a difference between each mic in relation to wind noise, you just need to fit your deadcat properly.

you have filter and level controls with the pro and if properly set up will help a bit

you dont have anything with the go

I'm assuming that you can speak more to this though Eheath, you know a lot more about audio than i do so i could be mistaken here

The filter option with the pro is pointless IMO you can do the same thing in post with any microphone.

Levels can be nice but now days most newer dslrs have better in camera functions for audio. When it comes to filming skiing, its not that big of a deal.
