Mounting Go-Pro On Ski.

I know the gopro crew does it since some of their promo videos have it. If youre trying to use the adhesive mounts make sure to clean the surface of your ski with some rubbing alcohol etc to get oils off of it so itll stick better. The suction cup mount would be far too big and bulky. Maybe look at their mount for surfboards too? Im not sure exactly how it works but it looks like its just a much wider adhesive mount.

Tried and failed. No glue will be strong enough to hold up to the vibrations and forces of kicker landings. I would try to tie it to your boot/head of binding to achieve an angle like this, will probably hold better.

My brother did this recently, and there are a few things we did to get it to work first time.

-Heat up the adhesive mount (like 10-20 seconds with a hair dryer, but dont burn it or deform it)

-take fine sandpaper and rough the area ever so slightly (like 5-6 rubs is good)

-peel off the mount and immediately attach

-push with as much force as possible (make sure it is really really good on there)

-Let it sit for a few days before even touching it.

-Use the "vertical quick release buckle" (the one that lets you get the camera flat against the mount)

If you do that, it **should** work....

Keeping the gopro as close to the ski will make it less likely to come off because there is less leverage to pry it off..

I've always heard its hit and miss, you can get something similar by taking the over-the-head part off the head strap and put the around the head part around your boot and tighten it a shit ton. Can be pretty shaky though. If you sticky it to the ski, try leaving the adhesive on for 24hrs and tether it to your boot or binding or something

ive never done it before but that's because once when I was with my friend he had a mount on his ski but his go pro wasn't on it and when we got to the chairlift it wasn't there any moer so ive never done it but I ski powder so im not sure wat it is with park

Hey, Thanks Everyone. In all reality I'm starting to figure out that it IS hit or miss depending on how much patience you have. First using the surf board mount for more adhesive area, rough the surface and heat it like EDolloStone said. Also you have to be patient with the days and conditions you shoot in. The coverage was shit, but the snow was soft. I'm sure if I carefully mounted the adhesive and only used the gopro on nice soft pow days I'd be ok. My skis float like boats.

i assume the closer it is to the center of the ski the better it will hold up with less vibration like right in front of the binding, maybe even against the binding

I'm trying to get my full body in the frame, it's a bummer there is nothing I can attach and detach, I'm super picky about getting several different frames.
