Fernie Jumps

1st) why did you move to a ski resort without a park if you're gonna be so angsty about it?

2nd) if you gotta come onto NS to ask where to build jumps in the slackcountry you're doing it wrong. Meet people on the hill/in town. become friends with them and get them to show you where they build jumps. Do you even have gear to go into the backcountry?

3rd) While writing this, I just came to the realization that Fernie isn't even open yet. Leading me to asking you: What the hell are you even talking about? How can you be driven nuts by the lack of park when the chairs aren't even spinning yet? Even if they RCR did build jumps, they wouldn't be built for another few weeks to a month. Of course - if you grew up in Fernie this would explain 1 and 3 - but of course, it makes 2 an even bigger mystery.


Overall, the OP confuses me, and I'm gonna go take my dog for a walk to deal with my confusion.

You do know you have to build backcountry jumps yourself right? People don't just snowmobile around the backcountry and stumble upon perfectly shaped kickers everywhere....

no wonder i have such trouble finding them

When I went to Fernie last year they had like two jumps set up on Falling Star, but they were closed. This was in late March, though. Also, I wouldn't consider the jumps to be in the backcountry. They just on the side of the run, nothing special.

Those are built and maintained by Fernie Freestyle so you won't be able to ski them unless you join their team.

There are a few natural hits through Lizzard bowl and one off White Pass heading back towards the top of Timber chair. If you look hard enough you will be able to find natural hits easily enough.
