Surfing a slackline

Can you use a classic slackline to "surf" a line? Do you need to loosen it up to give it a lot of "give"? I have tried surfing my classic gibbon slackline and i fall off after about 2 seconds, but it's likely I just suck at it, weak lower back?

Make sure you don't take all the slack out of your line. It will be harder to walk on it, but it will make you better if you practice. It will also be easier to surf on it

you can surf just about any line. once you figure it out it gets pretty easy. set your line up a touch longer than you think you would have to, but keep it fairly tight. a line with elasticity helps a ton.

Wow, I loosened up my line a lot, and it is wayyyy harder to walk. Haven't tried surfing it yet, need to master the walk first.

Nah, loosening it just makes tricks harder, surfing included. You're most likely just not committing to it strongly enough. You really have to engage your core and quads like a motherfucker to get the movement going and to keep the momentum under control yet still moving.

you just need to practice more. It probably took some time to learn to walk so it'll take some time to start surfing
