Moment scammers

Hello!

I am a NS rider from Russian Federation, Moscow.
My name is Alexey
I ride on ski park and freeride last 2 seasons and love it)
I register at this forum to tell u all short story how i try a buy a frankenski from a moment ski company

I shearch a soft twin tip ski for a park, i prefer mostly jibbing
And found in the internet ski from moment, wide waist, fully symmetrical, soft and looking good on video

I buy a pair from official site momentskis.com, pay with paypal
If u want i can make screenshots of paypal site with payment to moment
Payment was in semtember
I dont get my ski
Moment dont answer mail and phone

I ask a moment before a buy for shipping, its answer me its ok, but later says its will be in october...

This is not good story, buts its true.

If someone can help me it will be great, 575$ not critical money fom me , but the fact is sad

shipping around the world takes time. And i'm sure packages from America are not the easiest to get through customs in Russia.

I waited about a month the last time i ordered skis from Moment. That was a few years ago, but still.

Did you try emailing them as well? No response?

If so, sounds like moment needs to explain themselves.

Seems likely that the package may have gotten lost in the mail. They need to file a claim with the shipper and ship it again.

I don't think Moment are scammers but they definitely at least owe you an explanation and possibly a refund if they aren't capable of getting you your goods.

You could always just file a claim with paypal or the credit card you have attached to paypal. That would at least get your money back.

I think paypal protect is for 180 days, but 180 days cover only for ebay

Moment is a pretty established company, I highly doubt theyre trying to scam you. Its more likely that the skis are caught up in customs somewhere. Hell I had a facemask I ordered before in october from overseas, didnt get it until march lol.

Its a busy time of year for ski companies, they may just be flooded with emails and phone calls, not that thats a good excuse

sorry to hear, dude. if they're not responding, I'd definitely file a claim with paypal if I were you. i don't think they're trying to scam you....maybe it's held up in customs. I've had shipments from eastern european countires to the US take several month due to getting held up in customs, so that could be the issue.

I'm wondering if when they said "the frankenskis will be complete in october" they meant that the skis weren't even made yet, and so it would take them a while to make all the skis and start shipping them? You might be at the end of the line.

This is my guess. If you bought them in September then they could have been a pre order, meaning your skis weren't made yet.

This is the most likely situation.

if they said the skis were going to be made in october, i guess they could have just shipped them out at the end of the month. shipping could easily take an extra month (especially if it was free, and likely the slowest/cheapest option available) so you just may have to wait a couple more weeks.

it is weird that you didn't get a response though, not the best customer service. but i really doubt moment is trying to pull something illegal.

yeah i agree with this and what most others have said. companies are usually pretty responsive to threads like this on here so i bet they'll show up soon and give you a status update on your skis

Well this escalated quickly. Just updated our website product page with an accurate shipping date and contacted our friend with this to say;

" Sorry for the delay in response. For some reason your emails started going to our spam box. The only reason I found out you were emailing me is that an athlete showed me your "Moment scammers" thread on Newschoolers.

The Frankenskis have been delayed. We are a bit behind schedule due to the reworking of the semi-cap molds on all the new park skis.

I can send your Frankenski's out next week for sure or I can send you a refund. Whatever you prefer.

Again, sorry for the lack of communication. We would never try dodge you or steal your money.

Hope we can still get you on a pair of Moments.

Yo, Moment is one of the realest, most down to earth, business out there. You can as ANY Reno kid what Moment has done and I'm sure they'll back up the claim that they do what's best for them. If ski production is delayed, it's delayed. It's a handmade product, shit can happen. I remember getting a pair when the company was young, vs a pair of newer skis, and I can attest to the fact they're so much better, and nothing short of quality.

OP, I'm sorry your experience with Moment has been sour. I can tell you they're nothing but the best group of dudes out there.
