marijuana and skiing?

Ok I have read alot of post recently and people (on these forums at least) seem to think that skiing and smoking go together. Does anyone else get this feeling?

I actually know people who board, and get high while on the mountain and then have the nerve to go back out and continue boarding.

Anyway what are your thoughts?

earlier enlighter said that its dangerous and no one should do it, but when you look at all of the pros like T Hall that smoke on the hill and how good they are you can kinda see that its not all bad

Seriously. Danger is relative. Skiing is dangerous. Skiing high or drunk is more dangerous (to you and others).

Pros take huge risks. Pros get hurt. Do any of them get hurt because they were high? I don't know and neither do you.

Some pros ski without helmets too. That doesn't mean it's smart for you to throw a rodeo 7 sans helmet.

Who ever said it's like drinking and driving is an idiot, because i smoke and drive about 4 times a week, and i've been told that i am a hell of a lot better and safer driving when i'm absolutely blitzed. So all these people who are hatin' on it, just don't smoke and ski, and shut the hell up about other peoples choices.

Ridin' high is definitely fun if U know what U're doin'. Along with some good hiphop it helps me with smooth steeze. Other wise I just kinda tweak & jerk around. But if I smoke too much chronic it can sometimes make me too slow and tired and end up under rotating, casing landings, and just eatin' shit everywhere which sux.

ski bum culture, even read mainstream ski mags like SKIING, look at the editors page, he always says some stuff about weed and smoking with his friends, it dosent necessarly have to be done by ALL skiers or on the mountain, but there is some sort of conenction between the two...

you guys are crazy... i ski blazed sometimes, it's not big deal. we usually just go off in the woods, we're all good enough skiers to handle ourselves. If we go in the park who cares, i'm not affecting you in the slightest bit.

well derek your an idiot, you have no idea what happend in that accident and the mom that was killed was the mom of a good friend of mine, he was stoned outta his mind and that slowed his reaction time way down. The day was perfect and the roads were clear, this wasnt an intersection that people like to speed through because it connects onto a busy highway, if he wasnt under the influence of narcotics he would have deffinatly stopped!

It's the only way to go. Sessioning a rail or a box high is the dankest thing since sliced bread. As far as people saying it affects your control I'm sure it does but not to the point that I would cream a little kid. I've been skiing for 8 seasons and am damn accustomed to being on my skis. So naturally blazing was going to intertwine with skiing because I do everything else high, so why not ski high too?

I don't think it really matter...depends on the person...I've seen a person totally stoned losing control over his skis in a jump contest and he freakin hit the ground from a height of 10 meters...he wouldn't have gone down that hill not stoned with that speed...so losing your fear can be a risk too...I rather stay alive and get wasted afterwards than spending the rest of my life in a wheelchair like the guy I saw last year...u don't forget too fast how it looks like seeing someone with a cracked neck sliding towards u and lying there like dead!

i skied high for the first time a week ago and i hav to say EVERYONE should try it at least once. I was so stoned I thought I was riding skiboards and I was on my 179s fugitives. haha ya WOW......its def an experience.

i dunno, whenever i get high before i ski i just get realy realy pumped but then when i start to ski i come down, it's like skiing wont let me be high for a long time it just makes me be regular.
