College considerations

Msu is great for skiing. 20 minutes to Bridger and a little over an hour to big sky. If you get a Bridger pass you sometimes can make it up before or after classes.

I don't know what it's like in the states, but in Canada, all engineering programs are closely regulated and monitored to ensure accreditation. For undergraduate studies, it really doesn't matter where you go. Grad studies are a different story though.

got into university of vermont the other day. applied to u of denver and should be done w boulder for the early action deadline. besides that ive applied to penn state and temple, neither of which have much by way of good skiing. UVM is probably where I'll end up if they pull through clutch w some merit based scholarships

Our engineering department is good, like surprisingly good. We just got a $50 mil grant, and big things are happening. I'm an anth major, so I don't know the specific, but my Big is in the engineering program, so I can ask her for more info.

The school is pretty cool, the largest class I've had was under 300 students. Our class sizes are generally small, and the professors are willing to help you out. Campus is super pretty, with a view of the Bridgers and Hyalite.

We've got unreal skiing out here. Big Sky/Moonlight Basin and Bridger Bowl have some of the best Big mtn skiiing in the west. It's not too hard to find a job around town either.

Thank you! k+ this is exactly what I was looking for. Im hoping to make a trip out there this spring. Definitely in my top 3 to 4 along with boulder, UW, and Iowa state. As for skiing schools (where I see myself) its bozeman or boulder haha.

If you wanna ski madison isnt the greatest choice.

I highly recommend it though for engineering and just for the overall atmosphere. Such a sick town.

I'd totally recommend trying to go to a MSU Friday if you can. If not, one of our school tours works just fine.
You def want to get to as many campus' as you can to help decide. :)

99% sure I'll be going to plymouth state, applying this week and I think I'll definitely get accepted. Shoot me a message if you are applying/ going there

Iowa State has a ski club, granted you won't be skiing daily.... but you have the option to take several affordable trips out west, there is a surprising large number of students involved. With that said, if you are considering Iowa State you already know how well regarded the engineering program is, which will be beneficial in the long run.
