Trick list helps

does a trick list really help you progress and set goals for you? people have said it does. does anyone else make a trick list each season?

do tricks you like or will help with progressing towards tricks you like

e.g. lip back 2
1.learn to slide rails
2.learn to lipslide
3.learn to back 2
4....
5.profit

don't just do tricks in order to progress/become better it takes the fun away

and when you get a trick dont be like 'ok whats next' just enjoy the feeling of stomping that trick and feel good about it, develop some style

freeskiing is about enjoying yourself not being better than the other guy

i would definity set goals and plan the tricks you want to get. if you go into the season not knowing what u want to learn you will just lap doing the same stuff.

I almost agree with this.

For most skiers, freeskiing isn't about being the best (me included), but it is for comp skiers. Also, some skier like to learn new trick simply to progress or become better, that's the fun for them. They like to think, "ok what's next."

After saying that, my take on freeskiing is the same as yours. Just pointing out that other people see it differently, that's why it's free.

This past year i finally shut up and nut up and started trying new tricks. I think I spent a solid week and a half of my time perfecting my 3's and making them more steezy.

I personally everyday I do something like blading tramping or skiing I make goals and Im not allowed to quit until I succeed. Its hard but you should try it. It works

Yea I try to keep that in mind. But at the end of each day I go "dammit, I forgot to try a blah blah blah whatever trick."

When I get serious though I try one trick till I get it
