last_tangoI'm pretty into rc. What are you looking to do with it? Bash or race? I think a traxxas stampede vxl 4x4 would be good for you to bash around with decent speed and you can jump and crash it a ton. Its about $330 for a rtr with a lipo and a lipo balance charger. Traxxas is really durable and if you break anything parts are readily available at basically any hobby shop you go to.
last_tangoWhat is your top dollar budget including rtr kit, a charger, and a battery?
Zacharybwell first im not looking for brushless or a lipo battery so I will just say like 150 to 200
.Blinky$125 for my car. A backup battery (almost doubles the speed) an extra set of wheels, charger, and tool kit to come with it.
last_tangoYou will have your work cut out for you if you are going with a budget like that. You can get a rtr for that price from off brands but you will have zero parts support meaning that if you break something you will have to wait a week for the part to come to your doorstep if they even make replacement parts.
I would get the 2wd stampede used. It has a brushless ready transmision so when you go brushless you just need to drop in the system. This one also has the low voltage cutoff on it so you can use lipos. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Traxxas-Stampede-XL-5-RC-car-/321448829005?pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item4ad7d7e04d
then get this charger for $37 bucks that can charge lipo so when you decide to upgrade to lipo (which you will. NIHM are archaic unless you have a crawler) you have a charger that can charge lipos.
it puts you a little over budget but its worth it in the long run that will set you up for the least amount of headache so you can spend more time driving instead of having a broken car that just sits there and its all set up for upgrades.
