Lucid Dreams

few nights ago I was experiencing a vivid uncontrollable dream. It involved the Cardinals batboy riding a magic carpet from Disney’s film Aladdin. I was sitting on a porch eating chips and salsa when all of a sudden the Cardinal’s batboy came to pick me up. I hoped on the carpet and we flew around my house and through the front door. He gave me a detailed tour of my home, showing me every room and its functions. Then suddenly I realized that I had this dream month’s prior. I am not gay nor do I have any sexual yearnings for the Cardinals batboy I just happened to watch ESPN news and noticed him. Never did it cross my mind that I would dream about him that night and a month later. Nevertheless, when I realized that I had this dream before I came to the revelation that I was dreaming. I immediately started to yell “whoo hoo” in my subconscious mind and told my friends that I was dreaming but they did not seem to care and why would they. I was also able to see in color.

In my curiosity I tried turning on the lights in my kitchen and instead of the lights turning on the walls of the house collapsed and the roof flew up in the air and hovered into my backyard. In incredulity, I went on to my computer in the family room and put a Jeff Beck CD into my CD-drive. I selected Jailhouse Rock and instead of it being Jeff Beck it was the cardinals batboy talking to me in some kind of weird dialect.

As soon as I made the realization that I was dreaming I started to get really excited. I went outside and attempted to fly. I jumped up in the air and began to soar. I rocketed up into the clouds and felt the wind on my face and a feeling of weightlessness. Unexpectedly, I realized that I did not know how to land. My arms became weak and I started to drop down to earth. My brain stimulated a stomach drop feeling. When I hit the ground I felt physical pain and immediately woke up.

A few days before this I dreamt about sitting down in my room looking at my blue walls; everything seemed normal and ordinary until I looked at my reflection in the mirror. The reflection was a black demon like creature with spiders crawling over it. I immediately woke up but when I opened my eyes I hallucinated and saw the demon like creature slowly approaching me I screamed and tried to move but couldn’t at all like I was paralyzed. Seconds later I realized it was all a dream and was able to move again.


TLDR

My question is how can I prevent myself from spooking myself?

I also hear that you can have endless orgasms when lucid dreaming.

And what are some methods to recognize when you're dreaming?

Also there is stages of dreams. Has anyone woken up twice only to realize that the previous time you woke up, was still, in a dream?

If you just google this you'll know everything. Not to mention other threads. Anyway, to my understanding in order to recognize a dream you need to imagine some small object that appears every time and is easily noticeable and out of the ordinary. Writing your dreams down within 15minutes of waking up helps as well

lucid dreaming is my favorite. have you done this more than once? if not, remember how you were able to take control of your dream, focus on it before going to sleep every night and to prevent yourself from getting into a bad dream, its really just like going into a trip. you have to clear your mind of any negative thoughts.

some of the more common methods to check if you're in a dream and make yourself aware is to count how many fingers you have, flip your hand over and do it again and to check the time on a watch or a wall clock or whatever. neither of those have ever worked for me. In my dreams, if I go through a door, I pay attention to when I go back through the door and see if it brings me to the same place. Or I will flip light switches or try to turn on faucets. There are also some tiny specific things that I see in my dreams all the time that help me take control of my dreams. I agree with BO though, there's so much more to this. Just google.

Ya it was nuts how real it seemed. I was banging your moms for hours on end. Then I realized i wasnt actually dreaming and it was real life.

I'm able to lucid dream pretty often, especially when it's early morning and I'm not completely comatose from hw or drinking. It's kind of a blessing and a curse, though. Sometimes, I feel almost fully conscious when I'm dreaming, I know what time of day or night it is and I can wake up on command. The only problem is that waking up never seems as fun.

Every time I realize I'm dreaming, I immediately go to a sweet urban spot or a pristine corduroyed park that hasn't been hit yet. My most recent one was a sweet bank besides a school. We set up a kicker on the roof and were throwing a bunch of floaty rodeos off of it. I was shredding this spot with my friends who don't even ski and it was so cool to be able to see one of my roommates throw a cork 9 to flat. I literally have so much fun while dreaming that I put off waking up in order to savor more of the dream.

I've talked to a friend who also lucid dreams regularly, and he said it got to be a huge problem for him a few years ago. He explained about how he was the ruler of a kingdom in his dreams and he established an entire storyline in his head that he would visit every night. He told me that waking up became terrible because he felt like a nobody compared to who he was in his dreams.

Lucid dreaming is pretty damn cool, that is as long as you can remember that they are only dreams.

Great advice.

I’m not going to waste 33% of my life sleeping in blackness. People squander their natural ability to lucid dream solely because they haven’t been told the truth. You can maximize inner creative potential, overcome fears, process sorrow, summon your inner self and discover profound meanings of certain things all while sleeping.

And I haven’t yet been disappointed when waking up. I understand that they are only dreams. The only scary thing is sleep paralysis.

Yea John this is why I wrote my senior paper on Dream Analysis Therapy. People don't really understand dhow much meaning each dream has. I have been recording my dreams for like 2 months now and it makes me realize so many small problems/fears that I can overcome easily just by noticing that they are there, and not just and underlining sub-conscious problem.

It's where your body is in a sleep state but your mind is still conscious. Every time you sleep, your body goes through something called sleep paralysis which keeps you from acting out your dreams as well as helps with your heart rate and other things. Anyways, your brain sends signals to body in the form of itches and being uncomfortable to make sure you are still awake. So if you lay still and ignore those feelings long enough, your brain will assume you are sleeping and sleep paralysis happen. I've only had it happen to me a few times but it's a pretty crazy experience, it can definitely freak you out the first time it happens.

i think i get like semi lucid dreams. fairly often ill get these dreams where if i take a huge breath in and hold it in, it feels like I'm breathing in helium and i start to float. I then swim through the air like i was in the water. I haven't been getting these dreams as much lately, but when i was getting them a lot not too long ago, i would sometimes be walking around awake and try to breath in really deep like i do in the dreams, and then realize that i can't actually do that.

I was in class during a poetry recitation thing and when i read this i laughed uncontrollabaly for a few minutes. Im now waiting in front disciplinary office currently high, eyes probs red as fuck. If the dude finds out im expelled. Fuck you bacon
