how many beers a day is acceptable for a 21 year old male to drink

There are so many people here trying to claim how much they drink. Drink however much, or however little you want. If you think you're drinking too much, and you want to slow down then do it. If you don't want to stop then don't. Being 21 myself I would say drink as much as you want as long as you keep up with work/school.

If you are 21 you are at or near the peak of your drinking career. Once you're older you will have to spend more time worrying about family and career advancement and will have less time to drink, so get as drunk now as you possibly can.

How ever many you want.


Figure out yourself and how it affects you. Weight the pros and cons. There are some people that drink heavily and are fine, there are other people who drink a few beers and are total assholes. There's no magic number.

As an older guy who has slowed down, this is absolutely true. Have fun as much as possible at this age. Never turn down a night out, you never know what might happen.

I still drink about a 12 pack of beer a week.

depends on who youre trying to be accepted by, but id say 6 or less is pretty normal between work and bed. if you're skiing during the day, add 6+ to that. thursday night through sunday, any number is acceptable. if you're in college, pretty much any number is acceptable any day of the week unless it starts to really fuck with your schooling. then you may have a problem

without going out/bars/partying I drink about 4 beers everyday....


does anyone see this as problematic that I drink daily... most of my friends only drink like 3 nights a week and do so socially not as a crutch on some level

DrailI drink 'too much'. According to health canada me and most of my friends are alcoholics.

If I gotta work in the morning I'll try to keep it to 4 to 6 beers in the evening. There's probably two days a week on average I don't drink any booze.

2-3 for relaxing at home and such. It needs to be good beer though.
I can never really find myself drinking domestic beer as a casual thing, unless it's an après skiing thing.

Just because you once heard someone tell you about someone drinking 30 beers in a day does not mean that you drink 30 beers in a day. If I average out my week, I drink about 8 beers a day. however, yesterday I only had 3. the 25 on saturday ruined my average.

that being said, I'm 26 and have at least one drink 5 days a week. weekends, anywhere between 12-25 depending on what's going on. rest of the weekdays I have a drink, between 1-4. realistically though, I'm trying to cut back.

but tonight is my fantasy football draft!

I averaged about a case of ipa a week for around a decade. I had a pancreatitis attack last February from it too. So be forewarned of the long term consequences of consistent drinking.

I am 37. I dj'd all over Boston from the year 2000 onwards and went out to bars and clubs nightly because of this, that led to the beer habit, and this past Feb i had the attack. Sober since done for good.
