JahFeelsif the snowboarder hadn't injected so many pot, he wouldn't have hit the kid.
b-kuli don't know how many mountains do it already but at okemo you need a park pass to get into the big park. all it requires is a basic test on park safety. if all mountains did this this wouldn't even be an issue.
PASKIINGSUCKSIt would waste a TON of paint but I know my resort and many others would seriously benefit from just spraying a huge circle with a line through it and the words DO NOT STAND HERE over the majority of the landing.
You're welcome gaperific ski resorts, I just saved you millions in liability insurance.
I mean even the most NYCish gaper joey couldn't mistake that right??
theabortionatorPark pass isn't always the best thing though. Maybe if more places adopted it and your pass transferred from place to place. If I drive a long way on a day off to go to a new mountain, I don't want to get up to the park, get denied entry, then have to find some place to get a park pass, walk between different buildings till I finally find it, watch a safety video, spend additional money, then go back up to the park to finally shred.
That said I know some places don't enforce the park pass on people who look like they know what they're doing.
b-kulthats shitty. at okemo you just walk into the patrol shack take a two minute quiz then go ski. if its a pain and costs money i can see the drawbacks though.
DeebieSkeebiesthey should put it on some of the signs in the lift lines, you know the ones that say "know the skier responsibility code" and shit? just include it in there and say "please be advised that the terrain park is a dangerous place to ski, and is not recommended for families." and make sure to note that jump landings are possible hazardous areas to stand. it really cant be that hard. but then again, reading signs is for some reason difficult for a lot of people.
