also, the refreshing of pages is weird.
I made a post, thread listing showed 3 pages in this thread. clicked on 2nd page. took me to first page. scrolled to the bottom, only two pages visible. clicked on two, then was able to see the third. clicked on the third page where my post should be and my post wasn't there. went back and forward and still not there. when i finally refreshed the page that took me 3 steps to get to, it showed my post.

Ok now I have a serious thought. I just realized I could change the fawnt and that made it look a TON better. My one big issue now it that the upvote is on the right hand side away from everything else. It sounds stupid but it is actually a real pain to have to look over to the right every time I want to see how many votes a comment got. Before all the important functions were all on the left hand side by the users icon. I REALLY don't like that and think it NEEDS to change.

I also think there needs to be more contrast. Having everything be white makes it hard to read and determine what is what. Add some black bars between each comment to have barriers.

Also wft? How do I embed and change the fawnt and make it bold etc. Da Fuq?

The idea of a design change and abilities it will provide the users of this site are great. The design itself, not so much. I'm not a graphic designer (at least professionally) but the new layout seems like the opposite of the simple, clean one we had before. Perhaps tone down the gradients and "3-D" buttons a bit?

The main thing I dislike about the new forum look is the contrast, separate between posts is non existant and the thread listing there is barely any contrast between each post, they both kinda look like blank white pages with text and icons.

Otherwise, some great changes.

ps. no more preview? sup with that?

I'm with people on the abundance of white. The one thing I would say needs to happen is distinct lines surrounding the quoted post. I get that you're making it clean and it has potential, but the quoted topics and multiple replies bleed together.

Contrast is desperately needed. All the white is very blended and hurts the eyes a bit, defined lines would be nice.

god i thought my computer was just being weird or loading the mobile site or something. this is awful, NS forums have always gotten better and better looking and easy to read, now it looks like the forums i visited in 2000

also +1 the up and down votes shouldnt be over on the right


not like this is a threat or some nonsense but i don't think im gonna be coming on here as much anymore if it stays like this. it's just not easy to look at and aesthetically pleasing. same reason i dont go on TGR much, i feel like im squinting the whole time

multi quote is cool but that's about it

What definitely needs to come back:

single click to quote. It was really nice to just click "quote reply" and have it go directly to the post page, rather then having to scroll to the bottom. Also being able to middle click so the reply window opens in a new tab and then you can keep reading and open a few posts to reply to in different tabs was really nice.

The time!!! definitely 100% put it back to having the actual time (with seconds, I know seconds wasn't around for a little bit but it was nice to have).


also this would be gotten used to, but the up/down for each post next to the user on the left was far preferred.


In general the new layout is too modern. I know people will get used to it, but given a year of use and the choice to change back I would for sure opt to change back.


and a must: have a time stamp in the quoted window. That was always really useful.

....everything else though is fucking WEIRD. Then again, we had pretty much the same layout since what... 2001? i'm surprised it took this long. still, probably a lot to fix here, and I can see multiquote getting mad abuse.

also a lot of weird sizing issues. a little [x] was plenty good for my threads, doesn't need a big red remove button. same for page numbers. and not enough contrast.

Eh, IMO I have no problem with it. Looks cleaner, multi-quoting. A few touch ups here and there it'll be good to go.

It's like facebook, everyone shits when they change something, but a week from now you'll be used to it and it's for the better in the long run.

100% agree. I thought NS was one of the most readable forums out there. Not anymore, it looks pretty amateur to me now. As others have said, there's too much space between the timestamp and user info, the upvotes are harder to read for some reason (not as prominent), and the quote button is the only thing that pops out to me from the page anymore. The general lack of definition, especially around quoted text hurts readability. I like the features overall, don't like the layout
