There Will Be Blood


I felt like it was the kind of movie that might have gotten great reviews. Checked online after and the reviews are nothing but excellent. Very highly but honestly it sucked. I'd give it two stars because of Daniel Day Lewis's solid and the cinematography but the movie was still bad.

What else you got? I'll probably remember a bunch of others but I just watched that a couple days ago.

I liked the book but didn't see the movies. I'd still like to see them having read the book and seen the lord of the rings trilogy.

It did suck. And what's going to suck probably even more is the second one. They're making Ultron as a government project. It's fucking Antman that made Ultron. And they have a different Antman movie coming out later.
I understand it's an adaptation, but they're leaving out one of the most critical parts in a movie.
I can't even make an analogy about it because no idea is that stupid.

I'll probably still watch it though.

Is it worth watching? Saw it on netflix but haven't watched it as I didn't really like some of the individual movies. Thought it might not have been my thing. That said I always feel like I'm out of things to watch on netflix.

I think it's worth watching at least once. I've seen it twice, still enjoyed it the second time.
If you like comics, and know some stuff, it's one of those movies where it's hard to go against things from the actual Marvel universe.

Anyways....check it out.
Can be a slow start. If you have seen the iron man movies, thor, and captain America, watch it. If not, check the movies before the tie in out.
Then after you've watched the Avengers, watch the third Iron Man movie. I heard a fair amount of people disliked it, but I enjoyed it. More of a drama movie than the previous action types.

Looks pretty awesome but the movie was in slow motion the whole time and i think the script was no more than a few sentences.

He thought he was so good in that movie. His persona pissed me off like he thought he was a stone cold stud. I laughed at him. You could be a better actor than him.

Frozen. Not because it was a bad movie, it wasn't, but when every single girl I know can't stop talking about how amazing it was I expected more. There were so many plot holes that it really made no sense at all and i felt like they were making stuff up as they went

this. It wasn't particularly bad but the plot felt like the most typical disney princess story. It had all of the elements to be just your average kids movie. I still don't understand why there's so much praise for it and why it won Oscars over films like Despicable Me 2 which was actually a decent kids show.

Pacific Rim is the most recent for me.

but all time that sucked for me and its hands down and no movie has come close to sucking as bad as the third Pirates of the caribbean at worlds end....That movie sucked so bad I left the theater....finally finished it a few years later when it was on TV...and still sucked so bad.

It is still the only movie I've ever walked out on.

If you went to see Pacific Rim with any expectation other than to see giant robots fight giant aliens from the sea then you deserve to be let down, sorry but it was obvious that that's all the movie was going to be. That being said, it was a fun as shit movie and Charlie Day is hilarious

I was't a fan of inception to be completely honest. To each their own but i like christopher nolan's other stuff way more

theres a movie called Christmas In Wonderland. This movie is such a huge steaming pile of shit, that it is actually funny. its embarrassing that this was filmed in my home city.

The new Great Gatsby sucked pretty hard. I nearly fell asleep a couple times. I really like Leo but even he couldn't save that movie.

To all you pac rim h8rz: it was fuckin epic
Also anchorman 2 was pretty great. I had watched the first one a few days before and I thought it was a great sequel.

Upside Down - Didn't really know what to expect, but seemed like an interesting concept. Holy crap... Even with lowish expectations, probably the worst movie I watched in 2013.

The Desolation of Smaug - I'm pretty sure I liked the actual movie, but I couldn't get past the high frame rate 3d. Ruined it for me, but I'll need to watch I it again to really make a decision.

The Great Gatsby - awesome trailer, but disappointed in the actual movie. One of the few movies I've fallen asleep in. Haven't read the book so maybe that made a difference?

Clash of the Titans - again, not huge expectations, but I was expecting significantly more Krakken. Most epic monster ever... For 5 minutes.

My problem lately isn't the movies themselves, per say - but Hollywood's obsession with humans and love as the focal point of the entire thing.

Such an example is Thor 2. I'm pretty sure that whole movie could have been made without humans even being involved, at all. Transformers didn't need humans, yet a love story between two humans is one of the main focal points in the whole series.




But to bring things back on track. Gravity. I don't see how it won so many awards and got rated so high on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Sure, there was pretty special effect, but the plot is absolutely ridiculous and (spoiler) she had no right to make it back to earth. At the end, the only point I got from the movie was that anything Bullock gets close to either dies or gets destroyed. I feel sorry for the people on the recovery team, they'll probably get AIDS or something.

Today's movies have gone to shit for the most part, it's kind of sad. No plot, just cheesy acting and 3D or CGI overload...Pacific Rim was a perfect example of this, as was Transformers and all of those other stupid fucking movies that idiots these days cream over...

American Hustle had a lot of potential to be great, and I thought it was pretty good, but I think they ruined it with Bradley Cooper. Dude is the mega-douche of the century and seeing him act makes me want to punch babies.

For those of you saying that Wolf of Wall Street and Dark Knight Rises sucked, I used to think the same thing when I first watched them...But if you watch it again and actually appreciate the core plot of the movies, you'd understand that they are brilliant.

And while we are on the topic, I wish so bad for horror movies to get back to being good. If I see one more "scary" movie about ghosts in a house that a new family just moved into, I'll be pissed.

And yes, Gravity was fucking dumb. The effects were cool I guess, but there's nothing worse than 3 hours of Sandra Bullock and George Clooney floating around by themselves like idiots. Maybe if they chose a better cast and made the plot a little more intense somehow...

I thought dark night was meh. Not sucked but not that good and overrated as fuck. I didn't watch it again since theaters. I thought I had already posted about that movie in here but apparently never hit reply.

I agree on horror movies. The last one I watched was the new nightmare on elmstreet. They didn't everything that made the originals good. Suspense is the killer in a horror movie not the killing. The fact that the killer could be around any corner or under your bed, long chase scenes etc. Those boiler room scenes where the victim is being chased and you almost can't watch. They took that movie and fucked it, opting for the cheap "scares" by having a sudden noise etc.

I haven't been watching the whole family haunted ghost house movies so I don't know on those.

what made the movie really shitty for me was that most of the movie was sandra bullock making gross noises and going "no,no,no,no,no" .god i hate sandra bullock.

addition: the batman series. They didn't suck per sey, but they weren't as great as people revere them to be. Also, batman begins was the best one. I guess the better term would be overrated.

Trust me, I was super disappointed with The Dark Knight Rises after I saw it...Even after I watched it a second time I was still skeptical...

But, it was extremely well thought out and it put together the whole storyline/great acting/sophisticated piece to the puzzle....I still love the Dark Knight better with Heath, but I feel like Dark Knight Rises was more of an appropriate end to an epic series, you know what I mean? Nolan didn't care about the explosions and the intensity in Dark Knight Rises, he was more focused on the story and finishing it out in a cinematically proper way, which you gotta respect.

In terms of horror movies-- you ever see Rob Zombie's Halloween? SO fucking good. Such a raw, terrifying horror move...Watched Sinister on TV tonight too, which I thought was pretty good too...That guy is super fucking scary that pops up everywhere, a lot of scary parts with him in it, which gets the movie on the radar. It's all about the creepy/scary character...The viewer needs to be creeped out...If there's ghost children running around the house and hiding behind doors and basements, it's fucking corny to me. Sounds like you feel the same way.

PS/Random Thought: Tue Detective could've made for a scary fucking horror movie if they wanted too. That dark, creepy, genuine feel is what you need these days. Very rare.

And I agree about the "killing" aspect in horror movies...

Look at the "Saw" series...It's fucking despicable. They considered it a horror movie, but it was just a shock factor D-grade film with the shittiest acting and the most appalling plot ever. It's a perfect example of what "horror/scary" movies have become.

Directors/creators need to circle back to the "Thriller" aspect and incorporate some plot and dark shit that makes you feel uncomfortable. THAT's a scary movies goal and THAT's what should be happening...Every film producer is copping out these days, it's pathetic
