That's what I was thinking those are some pretty gnarly edge cracks for just 6 hours of switchups I mean I have had the 2013 model and they foshure didn't get edge cracks that quick

I guess my two pairs of ridiculously soft lizzies would say otherwise. One pair had 160 days on them. My current pair has over 300. 100 days or so of the current pair are from lapping a 200ft rope tow for hours which equates to hitting a ton of worst case scenario as far as how many rails they're hitting per hour.

The current pair has little pop left and an inch of edge missing underfoot. But honestly, what pair wouldn't have this sort of damage after 300 days?

Sure, I'm not hitting 60 ft jumps or concrete ledges, but as you said, that's not really what they're designed for.

I do agree that softness does have some do with durability, but not enough for most kids on here to sway their choice in ski.

Have you actually looked at the camber profile of the Al Dentes? They are not even close to the same ski as the Traveling Circus. Al Dente does actually have a pretty good amount of camber going on.

Yeah I would take another look. The aldente is a soft ski that can really tip still. Unlike the TC it's torsionally quite stiff so they actually carve ok. You do have to upsize Admittedly but you would need to so the same on the TC to try and make them stable. Between the two though the al dente wins hands down. Yes it costs more but you get what you pay for.

Obviously if you are only lapping a small jib park you are not going to wear out a ski as fast as if you were riding a big park or skiing all mnt. Obviously you will do edge damage but you will not really be using the ski hard. Take those 300 days somewhere like whistler and those skis would be absolutely done.

The main issue will be loosing pop and underfoot damage from the lack of sidewall both of which you mentioned. I have had park skis at over 200 days with no edge missing and most of the pop still there so it's very possible a park ski can stand up to that much use.

i really only wanted the al dentes for the stiffness because im pretty light and thus need more effort to get decent presses and butters.

Im curious now. How does a company make a ski torsionally stiff yet longitudinally soft? Is it the fiberglass?

Can be a few things. The long nose rocker helps give it a softer feel without having to soften the entire ski. It also has sidewall underfoot which helps. The layup of the core can make a difference too. And I'm sure quite a few more things I'm not a ski builder though.

I can see Ross not worrying about it too much since I'd think if they explode on him he'll get new skis, not that I see him worrying much.
Also I don't lap 55 foot jumps everyday but I do like to jump quite a bit in a season on at least 40 foot jumps. I think it'd be a sweet ski if you could afford to have it as a dick around ski, kinda like coming across an old pair of invaders.
