For my portable setup I use an ARRI ALEXA with an Angenieux Optimo 24-290 or some Leica Cinema Primes.

Personally I shoot with a Canon t2i, a Tamron 17-50, and a rode videomic. Works out well for most applications and won't run you too high of a price
