New boots or liners
Firstly I've got dalbello blenders, few years old now but are the same as cureent voodoos I'm pretty sure.
I loved them crazy comfy and as served me well, however over this last season I've noticed the performance fall off heaps, i know the liners will be shot.
But I've also been Skiing allot more aggressively and I'm not entirely sure having such a wide last is working for me anymore.
I know i need to see a fitter but before wasting their time or anything just wanted to know if peoples opinions on trying to fix them with intuition liners or if it would be better to step up to a higher performance boot.
if you have the money to upgrade your boot, upgrade it. if you don't have the money to upgrade just get a new liner or depending on how many times you've heat molded it you can heat mold it again so the foam re expands and fills the space in your boot. if i were you i would get them re heat molded first because this is the cheapest option.
we out here skiing that ohio pow
Its just a basic liner, cant be heat molded.
I also have spare toe and heel pads and the only thing slightly wrong with them is the return spring on a buckle is gone.
And my point is i obviously dont really have the money for new boots but i certainly dont have money to waste trying to fix a boot that wont work for me anymore...
Well it's hard for anyone here to advise as we can't see your foot in the shell and can't see how much the shell has broken down. Shells do soften with use. I used to use foam injection liners an I found I used to wear a shell out after 2 seasons but the liner woul still be good. So it could be the shells are worn too.
Overall take your boots to a goo fitter and have him asses the fit and condition of the boots. Also if you don't you may find a custom footbed the most effective. Your foot is probably not surported so moving round in the liner. A footbe will secure your foot and stop them packing out so fast in the future. You will need custom footbeds with any boot so it may be that you can get a footbed to get you through the rest of the season and then get new boots at the start of next season in say September when you will have much better choice in boots.
Summer is just around the corner. Unless you find a killer end-of-the-season deal, work all summer and get a brand new setup next year. Boots, intuition liner, footbed. Plus if your growing just wait til fall.
