Armada Pc 2014
Hey, I found a pretty good deal for armada Pc (pipe cleaner) 2014. I was wondering if it was a good ski for me
I'm 5'10 160. And ski 80% rails 20% jump
At first look it may appear obvious that a pipe ski wont do a good job for rails and small jumps but, after looking its specs, it has most of the characteristics of a jib ski l: its pretty light, it has lot of flex and it has 2.5mm reinforced edges...
Would it be a good choice ??? If not why ?? What do you guys think !!! Thanks, Pio
Theres no reason why the PC would be a bad park ski. It is virtually the same ski as the AR7, which obviously kills it, just with a race base and a tad softer flex. The only issue is durability, there are skis on the market that will hold up for longer.
Shredding whatever shit is in Southern NY.
They would be great park skis, you just have to wax the bases more frequently than the ar7s because of the race base. As long as the bases are waxed regularly, they will have just as good durability any other ski from armada.
Okayy... :) .... Are there any cons with the race base... And also, tell me a little more about the durability issues: does it have the same durability as the ar7.... If not, whats less durable: Top sheet ? Edges ? ( I ask questions about it because i bought line step ups last year and people on forums said they were bombproof but after 3/4 season, the topsheet is almost all chiped and ther are chips that are about 1cm deep !! )
The only durability issue is if you don't wax the base they dry out and become less durable. Otherwise, the top sheet and edges will be just as durable as the AR7s. The reason why you step ups are chipped up is because the are full sidewall construction. The pipe cleaners have a 50-50 half cap half sidewall so they are not prone to this issue.
Thanks it gave me a good idea :). Last question: how does the pc's race base compare to my stepups base ??? In term of frenquency of waxing and toughness in general
The pc's have a sintered base which is much faster. The step ups have an extruded base which is a little more durable and doesn't need to be waxed very often but is much slower. Generally extruded bases are only found on low-end cheap skis due to their low performance, maintenence and cost.
I can have them for 310 with tax and shipped at home !! Is it a good deal or should i wait for the summer for the prices to drop ?? .. The only provblem is there are not much of these lasting !!
That's a pretty good deal as most other stores are selling them for a lot more. I doubt that they will go significantly lower as they are already discounted a lot.
I have the pc and overall they are a great ski
