Harder to slide PVC pipe or box?

Hey,

Although this is defnitely a gaper thread, do you guys think it's harder to slide a PVC pipe (probably 12" diameter) or a flat box? I can slide the rail really easily, but for some reason I can't get the 90 onto a box. Any tips? Also, how do I progress to rails.

its the exact same idea to slide a box as a rail so idk what question is. Pvc is easier to slide vs a box though

boxes are easier to balance on because its really only slipping out you have to worry about. rails/pipes are easier overall though, especially when spinning out or doing any rail tricks, imo because you can actually grip the feature

I wish I had a small flat rail in right now. Maybe not easier but I feel it wouldn't be any harder to slide a rail than a box. I'm trying to grip the rail with my front ski as well and it's harder the wider the box.

I've never hit a pvc rail on skis though. Only a board. As long as your edges are dull pvc is pretty easy to slide and is generally pretty fast. Boxes can be as smooth or sometimes much stickier.

I think that's a big part of the problem, because our box is in pretty rough shape.

boxes can be a little tough just because they are slicker then PVC.

Boxes:
Balance = easier, but if you start slipping off to one side its harder to save yourself
Stickiness = generally stickier
Trickability = easier to do spins onto the box, harder to do spins off because you have to grip the correct side off box almost as soon as you get on

*boxes may or may not have coping which can greatly change things
*stickiness of box depends greatly on the hill and conditions, some boxes are slick AF, and others not.

PVC:
Balance = harder, but locking on is easier
Stickiness = Rarely, if ever, sticky
Trickability = spins on are a bit harder to balance, but tricks are generally easier to do on pvc
