Totally wrong. Have you ever jumped out of an airplane before? At the very least in the region I'm from there are designated landing areas that aren't on the fucking runway. No human should ever be on foot on an active runway.

small airports are. at least on the east, its fairly obvious where the airstrip is when you see forest everywhere then a long strip of flat green in the middle

I think hes referring to brush and everglades as "Forest" but farther north there are examples of what he is talking about. Even over here in cali a lot of the small airstrips are made of grass up in the mountains. As long as it's flat a small aircraft can land on it. The right aircraft can land pretty much anywhere - see the video.

it doesn't look like the runway is made of grass. if you look in this picture, you can see what looks like a paved strip just beyond where the aircraft its. look at the base of the telephone pole on the far right and then just follow it left.

That is a road. Definitely a grass airstrip.

Just look at this little airstrip, wouldn't be surprised if it's the one in question.

I imagine both share some responsibility in the accident. Perhaps the skydiver didn't land where he was supposed to, but:
a) shouldn't the pilot have been notified there were people skydiving in the area and taken extra precautions?
b) surely the pilot should have seen the skydiver while approaching the runway/grass strip/field/whatever and pulled up? He didn't exactly come out of nowhere or was difficult to see.

(I am neither a skydiver nor a pilot and have no idea if either of these are reasonable expectations)

I was expecting a skydiver just falling into a plane up a couple thousand feet. This is still fucking nuts though. Lucky they're both alive. That's some sketchy shit.

That is one of the craziest things I have ever seen, holy shit.

And to the guy that said he lands on the runway when he skydives, are you sure you aren't landing next to the runway? Theres a difference between landing off to the side and crossing paths with an active airstrip.
