Hi, im a 13 year old skier from scotland, i have been freeskiing for just over 2 nyears. I can flatspin 360 misty 540 back/frontflip 720 switch 540 etc
switch 270 on pretzel 270 out, blind switch up 270 out etc
and was wondering if i am good enough for a sponsor, if so how to i attract the attention of sponsorships?

Saying what you can do means nothing. Post up lots of videos showcasing the best of what you can do. Enter any and every comp you can and just overall get your name out there.

Oh look, another thread about sponsorship. Dude if you want to be sponsored you MUST have full tilts. it's a necessity. Second, you have to be able to do "The Switch".

you can but its not gonna get you a sponsor or anything close to a sponsor. You can't just expect to get a sponsor with minimal work. You have to understand that to get a sponsor you have to be able to represent and market their brand. Basically anyone under 16 is never going to get a sponsorship. You sound good, but you have to have a noticeable unique style so that people will notice the product you are wearing and want to get it. Sponsorship is more about the right place, right time, and meeting the right people than it is skill.

I'm 13. I know how kids are at my age. They exaggerate. They said they got a trick when they didn't even land it once. I'm not doubting you I just call bullshit until I see a edit. Anyone can say they could do something.

This along with a personality. Everyone I've talked to on the lifts who represent a brand are good at talking and portray themselves quite well. Skiing ability actually plays a smaller role than you think. If I owned my own company, I'd look for riders who were cool, down to earth, had a unique style, and could get other people stoked on the brand.

Just remember that sponsorship is not about you, it's about the brand.

Being from Scotland your best bet is to get a local sponsor. Make an edit, hit up the local shops/ski makers/whatever.

Start working at your local ski shop, and start talking to all of the brand reps. I have a friend who was by no means the best guy on the mountain (he was good, just not the best), but he worked at the shop, was great with people, and was a solid rider. He's then more of an asset to the brand because he's the guy selling the equipment and is a good representative for them.

Hey op I'll try to help you. Being from Scotland you are at an advantage. Compared to the states or Europe there are much fewer skiers in te uk so if you are good you will get noticed. Defiantly get some edits done. Let people see what you can do. If someone sees something you put out and likes it your on there radar. Now this may mean nothing at first. But if you compete and that same person is impressed again they will remember you. It's building up like this that will get you your first sponsor. And don't worry about people saying you need to be a face of a brand. That's not true as a grom. When your young you need to show what you can do. If you continue being sponsored you will need to work on your public side but don't worry about that at first. Enter plenty of comps too that is a great way to get noticed. Also things like britains got skiers is a great way to show your skills.

Overall though just enjoy your skiing. Go to as many comps as you can an put out videos.

yeah man just enter comps and make videos but don't turn into a sellout by endorsing the gear that your sponsor gives to you, i mean thats what your supposed to do but if there giving you a shit product for free tell em your not using it don't get caught up in all the commercialism of freestyle skiing just have fun with it.

It's all about self marketing, get your name out there and create hype. Sponsors will start coming to you if you can do this successfully.
