Hey guys,

Im the Park Crew Manager up at my local hill, West Mountain in Upstate New York. We are fortunate enough to be under new management this year which means I'm actually getting a budget for the Park, unlike past years. We are looking to have some new features made. I'm just wondering what's everyones favorite features on their hill and if you have some pics to post that would be a huge plus!

We have some regular features you would see at most mountains(DFD, Flatrails, Boxes, ect.) Im looking into getting a longer Flatrail, a decent sized tube rail, and possibly an S-rail. I would appreciate and am open to any other ideas or suggestions! Thanks! And may the snow be forever in your favor.

Personally, never seen one or hit one, but I would be all over it if i found one.

A Waterfall Box :D

Would be prime for like swaps, 3 swaps, and just all around fun.

Honestly super mellow flat bars or flat tubes are my favorite thing. Out of the ground just enough to scissor so like 1 ft of the ground

Here is the butter box along with some of my other favorite features that I think can go well together to make a flowy park. My mountain once used a metal fence as a feature and just cut the top part so it was grindable, that was also pretty dope.

those rails that look like a double kink on their side are super fun. once you get a hang of them they set you up perfectly for spinning off.

A nice 20 or so foot flat rail with a decent sized drop to a landing off the end. Long enough to swap and set up for a big spin out.

The place I ski (coffee mill) has this neat jump that goes right into a ghetto-ass quarter pipe thing. Also, Barrels or tubes can be nice. With that said, never go to coffee mill, it sucks.

Jumps :

If you can, build a moto/bmx style jump line. The jumps dont have to be huge (10ft to 25ft) but in a line one after another. Maybe like 4 or 5 in a row?

Step overs and table tops because they are mellow and are great for learning new tricks.

Step overs are my personal favorite because of how little impact you get when you land.

Step downs are gnarly and, in my opinion, cause way more injuries because you cant really see where your going to end up until takeoff, and then you just drop out of the sky. Plus, gapers on the knuckle equal death all around.

Rails:

Do not make rails shorter than 12ft, thats just a waste of materials

Up rail on the lip of a jump (25 to 45ft gap) to landing
A long (20ft +) single barrel urban style down
6in Flat bar rails of any kind
Tubes (Like the milly tubes at brighton) greasy and perfect
Flat Down or Large Rainbow Box
Rail to tranny landing (like a dancefloor after a rail or jersey barrier)

Although, I hate those boxes with two large tubes on top on either edge. Stupid double grinds

Crazy Fool

A nice steep kicker up against a tree on the side of the park for a nice big natural tap, put some corrugated pipe around it if you want to protect it from damage.
