2013 Rossignol Super 7s - Anyone own them?

How do you ride, what terrain, turn shape, where do you ski, how often are you riding switch, and most importantly how much do you weigh.

im looking for a good powder ski that can ride the rest of the mountain, however the main thing im looking for is fresh pow to choppy old powder off the groomers. i want to be able to take it through the trees, off back country booters, and some open terrain big mountain stuff, but not as much. i ski in the west in tahoe and salt lake area the most.

Eh...you can do better for those conditions. I heard they weren't that good In chop. And you can Definately do better for a bc booter ski. that was a very good review i thought. too bad the other rossi ski he mentioned in the review the sickle or whatever is just a few mm's to short for me. definitely gonna look into the bibby's. any other recomendations?

For what you described, 191 Caylors. Enough said.

I've owned 195 Super 7's by the way. Not exactly a ski I'd want to mount near center or ride switch on.

JJ's and Super 7's are on much different ends of the spectrum from one another.

I found the Super 7 to be pretty dead feeling most of the time. I had very high expectations for these skis and was severely disappointed. The best time I had on them was riding 4" of fresh on groomers. When ridden in deep, dry and light snow of 12" or more here in the PNW, I found myself bouncing off of the "bottom" of the snow rather than staying on top. I have ridden other pintail shaped skis such as the Super 7, and found them all to be much better performance wise than the Super 7. I have been on 191 Billy Goats for the past few years and have far preferred the BG's to the Super 7's.

JJ's have a ridiculously small turning radius and a much more drastic tapered shape; while still more symmetrical compared to the tapered tail of the Super 7.

The JJ's are much lighter, softer, more likely to hook up in variable snow/heavier snow, more jib oriented, and more prone to deflection in chopped up snow than the Super 7's. Keep in mind I owned the 185 JJ's vs 195 Super 7's. The 195 AK JJ's were not yet on the market when I bought the JJ's.

Out of those two skis; I would choose neither. There are much better skis on the market. You should really consider what you're looking for out of a pow ski. The Super 7's are a directional oriented "stiff charging" ski while the JJ is a more playful, jib oriented ski that can still "charge" in the forwards direction.

I'm 6'2" and 185lbs for what it's worth.

Wow that is super helpful! thanks a bunch man. I think I'm going to end up trying some demos of a few different types and go from there. Im gonna hold off on the super 7s for now. thanks again man!

I'm wondering if anyone has ridden these as an all mountain/park ski?

I'm looking for something wide enough to be fun when there's snow, but i still want to be able to go ski rails with when I only bring one set of skis to the mountain and ride as a wide park ski.

Any opinions on that?

thanks for all the input. i ended up scoring a deal on the atomic bent chetlers 192s and am super stoked with those so far. still haven't had a deep pow day on them but in the choppy stuff they mob pretty good

can anyone tell me if the super7 has vertical or slanted sidewalls?
