Heading out to snowbird and alta next week. I have been to Snowbird a couple of times but have never been to Alta. What are some must do runs and areas I should check out at snowbird and alta when I am there? Don't mind hiking, but I don't have much backcountry experience and avalanche training so looking for runs and areas in bounds. Thanks.
At Alta take the High Traverse to the Alf's High Rustler area. Wildcat area is fun.
At Snowbird the Gad Chutes are really awesome but I don't think there's enough snow for them yet. Same for the ridge as far as you can go to skier's left on the front side, awesome stuff but probably not enough snow. There's great tree skiing in the Gad area in general. There's also some nice cliffs in the Peruvian Express area.
