Frankly I'm surprised Salomon didn't drop him awhile ago. No hate towards Nick, he's a dope skier and 100% deserved those years with Salomon, but the dude got unlucky with his knees and hasn't put out much (of himself) in years.
Sponsored skiers are human billboards, so no film parts/edits/photos = no sponsorship.
Now Icelantic, a smaller company, can afford to toss some product to a future legend in hopes the knees improve. Stoked on this that's rad.
If anyone found a flipcam in the parking lot at Snowshoe WV last season with some footage of a guy teabagging his sleeping girlfriend, please post dope pole cam shots from awesome pow day...teabagging shots are all yours. TY
Its been discussed in other threads Salomon is moving towards a Big Mountain/Touring oriented market with skiers like Greg Hill, Andreas Fransson, Josh Daiek, Kim Havell, etc. Its a budding skiing market, much to chagrin of some, but if they can keep up or increase their market share in that area, its a success to them. Freestyle has already set its roots in the non-skiing world in regards to the X-Games and Olympics now. Companies may see that as a sign its time to move forward and promote a new area and generate new revenues there.
I'm a former racer, I say dumb things.
I've been waiting at least a month for icey to get their team site up in hopes that I could finally purchase some skis with my pro-code but it looks like there is still no way to get access to pro-prices.....Does anyone (rep/sponsor/friend of icey) know if they still do proform schtuffs?
