Saga needs to step their game up

Going along with the current influx of rants posted here on NS, I would like to speak out about my disappointment with Saga. I placed an order on their site quite a while ago (October 19) and only today (November 13) received all of my stuff. I bought various hoodies, tees, and jackets for a total of $450. All of this new gear was for some of the guys I ride with as well as myself. It was almost a month before we got our stuff, leading to a huge disappointment when their website advertises that all items ship within 24-48 hours. Throughout this entire process I didn't receive a single email from the company as to why they were delayed. The only way to talk to an actual person is to call an iPhone number for support, and even then, the guy who answers really has no idea what's going on. On their instagram page they promised compensation to Canadian customers who received delays in their ordering, I however received no sort of compensation (unless you count a single lousy stickers). On their website they advertise that this year they've changed their shipping to Canada to:
  • Eliminate extra fees: No more Customs Duties or Taxes
  • Receive orders faster
  • Easily track orders

    • NONE OF THE ABOVE HAPPENED. I still had to pay Saga a 7% processing fee, it took almost 4 weeks to get my stuff, and I wasn't able to track my order whatsoever.

    On the other hand, I bougt a virtika jacket during their special pre season ordering deals, scored a fantastic 20K waterproof jacket for $200 and got a whole bunch of free goodies (stickers, beanie, balaclava, bandana, posters). I also got free shipping to Canada and didn't have to pay a 7% processing fee to Canada like Saga makes you do. My Virtika stuff also arrived 4 days after ordering it!


    It seems Saga doesn't really care about their customers and believes their customers will just fall into buying their clothing because lots of people on Newschoolers thinks it's awesome.

    Saga really screwed it up this time and I was much happier with my experience with Virtika (The guys who pour chocolate milk on girls tits). In the future I would be happy to purchase more goods from Virtika, they're a fantastic company who's being creative in their marketing while still keeping the customers pleased.

    I got my order just yesterday too. They did email me saying that Canadian orders were going to take a bit longer since they had to collectively ship all of the Canadian pre-orders to the Canada warehouse, and they orders would ship out to the customers from there. Not sure why you didn't get an email like that. I just placed another order today, so we'll see how long this one takes haha.

    I didn't receive an email but even if I did it still would've bothered me. Their website advertised a fast shipping time and it ended up taking four weeks to get my stuff.

    I can honestly say Bloom and FD far surpass saga in customer service. Saga does release some cool stuff though, but I buy from bloom specifically because of how they have treated me, and I would buy from FD but nothing from them (other than the NS hoodie) has really caught MY eye yet.. Maybe in the future.

    I've bought from Bloom and Saga and overall my experience with Bloom was quite a bit better. I love my saga pants and was able to get a lot of use out of them but after seeing the difference between their preorders and shipping versus blooms I would buy bloom every time. I don't have as much experience with FD/virtika but they always seemed pretty helpful and understanding. I would love to see saga do a better job and will always love their product but it seems like they have promised improvements to distribution every year and it doesn't meet my expectations.

    I got my Saga stuff today but I ordered like a week ago and the quality is insane. Only complaint is that the khaki fatigue pants look kinda grey but I still like them so it's good.

    Canadian customs seems hit or miss , I have had stuff go through within a day and I have had stuff held for weeks for no reason.

    That really sucks man! The thing that really bothers me about Saga is that they respond to the questions you ask them (such as when will it ship, why hasn't it shipped, how can I track my order, etc.) but they don't give you insightful answers, rather they just give you some half thought out generic response.

    FD / Virtika definitely brings their A game when it comes to customer service. That's pretty sweet you got free international shipping.

    bloom probably has the best service of all, I wouldnt know because I havent bought from them but they definitely come across a high class brand with good quality clothes and service. I've also never heard a bad thing about Bloom

    I have had problems too. I ordered a wizard hood a few months before pre-orders and 3 weeks later i still didnt have it. I hit them up with the live help thing and it was just that my order got lost in the system. The guy I was talking to was really cool and nice he even said that he was going right then to give me some extras in my bag and sure enough I got 5 stickers, shoe string pack, and OG triple stack logo drawstring bag, and my Wizard hood.

    personally I just think that saga redid their entire system of getting things done and they are still having to figure it out

    For sure! I got a jacket from FD last year and it was the wrong size. I had already taken the tag off and for some reason I had kept it for a month. When I realized it was too big, I called FD up and they were super easy to make a trade with. They took my jacket back without knowing its condition, and sent me another one along with a hat and some posters within two weeks. Keep it up!

    I found more stuff that I liked on Virtika's site, and found their new site to be a lot better for ordering stuff online then Saga's. Especially when it came to sizing. I would agree that Saga is still a larger company, but Virtika is catching up.

    Do it! I'm really happy with the stuff that I got from them. I'm sure you'll get your gear right away (really important if your mountain is opening up right away). The waterproofing on their jackets/pants is superb too!

    I completely agree with this thread. pre ordered my stuff back in june and just received it today. got all my items shipped In 3 different boxes with 3 different shipping companies which I just find sooo weird and for some reason they couldn't ship it to my house so I had to get to every single shipping place and pick my package up which kinda sucked but not a big deal. Only major inconvenience is that it took so long and ive had to ski without a jacket and had to use my old ski pants. Also did anyone else find that their anomie stuff was not even close to as good of quality as previous years. ordered anomie pants last year and they where awesome quality but this year the material looks cheaper and not as good.

    bravo to virtika and bloom for their customer service, but you do know customs is out of the hands of the company most of the time, right? for example jiberish recently had a problem where an entire container of their product got held up at customs for weeks.

    I just talked with a rep from Saga, and he made it clear that they really are doing all they can to get peoples orders out as promptly and efficiently as possible.     My dad owns a UPS Store where I live in Ontario... they ship stuff to the US all the time, customers call all the time asking where their package is and its in customs, i can see where you're frustrated, hopefully it got stuck in customs and theyre not just lazy

    I currently have been with Saga for all my outerwear needs..Probably won't be buying from them again due to sizing issues and ease of damage to the material...Gotta do some research for some other companies...Saga releases some DOPE stuff too, but I can guarantee that it is under $150 to make one jacket at Saga..

    I have ordered from Saga and FD on the same day and got them on the same day a week later. So imo they are both great companies. While I do say FD caters to the more taller person, Saga does have cool shit. Hopefully OP's case is just a mess up with someone other than Saga because both Saga and FD are dope companies.

    last year i waited 6 weeks for my fatigues to come and after waiting that long i stopped expecting them to be there everyday after school but they did show up one day. This year i got a tracking number and they shipped the next day and i recieved my new pants in 6 buisness daays. These guys need to figure it out
