I fail to see how a misty 5 is only 180 degrees of left/right rotation. I suppose you can call me retarded if you see fit but I just do not understand such logic.

What I don't understand is why the flip rotation counts and why you add the two different axis of rotation together. Anyways I'm out, I could give two shits since most of you guys are just being so condescending about it.

In skiing, snowboarding, skating, and all sports of this variety, the general trend is to count the TOTAL degree of rotation, not just the horizontal. It makes it way easier to keep track of rotations once you get into all the different kinds of off-axis rotation. All tricks are named by:

A.) Whether you did the trick switch/forward and whether you spun left or right (generally only used in comps, can also be called natural or unnatural)

B.) whether it was a single(no need to designate), double or triple flip

C.) the axis of rotation: rodeo, flat, cork, bio, misty, "d-spin"

D.) the total degree of rotation in the trick

E.) what grab you did in the trick


Ex: Left Rodeo 7 Japan
Ex: Unnatural Cork 9 Lead mute
Ex: Switch Left-side Dub misty 12 mute


I have already put WAY to much effort into this post, but hey, was that nice enough?

i'm having trouble wording it but if you watch a dude do a regular 5, then a cork 5, then a backflip 180(dipped back to the left so = underflip) you'll notice that they are all very similar and that the 360 that is the flip in the backflip 180 becomes a 3 in the cork 5

fuck idk why i can't explain this better right now, maybe i'll try again after ive had some coffee. but for the mean time, watch a bunch of videos and you'll start to realize that e.g. a misty 7 is just a type of 7
