my 2 cents about emo.

1. emo kids don't slit their wrists. they play guitar.
2. emo kids get girls. you don't
3. emo is good music.
4. boys can't cry.
5. the cool emo kids are the ones that wear white collared shirts and band tshirts, not the grubby ones (like the one in the people section of pictures).
6. emo doesn't make you sad. your pathetic life does.
7. emo does not involve whining. you just think it does.
8. emo is only made fun of because people are afraid to make fun of rap (gangstas are mad scary...but i ain't never scared)
9. emo people are witty.
10. emo is better than you.

3. emo is good music: better than some, I guess, but bland, as all modern music is. NOTE: MY PERSONAL OPINION

You better shape up your arguments if you're going to defend emo... they pretty much suck ass. You can't deny emos:
-Look gay
-Act gay
-Sound gay.

Ok, it's their choice, but those are facts. I really couldn't care less, it just gives me something to laugh about a little, even I feel guilty about it. They try to be original but they all end up looking the same in their ugly style. Then again, I applaud their balls for actually wearing that stuff, risking getting seriously laughed at.

Ahhh, my good friend and I make many references to that site, haha.

Not sure how you'd differentiate the two... I just dress how I like to dress and dislike stereotypes, but I think that site is hilarious. The guys who wear chick jeans are considered emo I guess, and anyone with the cut out or bleeding heart shirts. Funny stuff.

emo is just a weaks ass attempt at the mass production of true punk. it is just like pop music. they are following an easy to follow pattern to make a band that kids with problems in their lives can relate too, cause they are jsut like us. except they are people who take on an image because of the profits that can be made from it. the lack of creativity and the mass production of these so called bands can be seen in the weak, dry, souless shit they play.

yeah, people make assumptions about emo all the time without giving it a chance, i mean yeah it obviously depends on your taste in music and what not. there are some really talented musicians who play emo, like chris carraba...so good live, people should just actually listen to some get up kids or dashboard before they say it sucks...cause i've heard some really shitty techno and i think IT sucks.but then again, everyone thinks techno sucks..i hope

i sort of agree with my point. but you have forgotten how the world works. as much as you would like to disbelieve, media controsl us. not entirely but for the sake of this argument. what started out as a cheap marketing scheme, tricked people into thinking it was cool. while people may not have thought the music was good at first, after hearing it played over and over they became accustomed to it. this changed peoples views and tastes. with such a powerful influx of what people believe you should enjoy, people often 'forget' what is really good. this is how some trends start. so after a certain time period of hearing this shit, new people begin to think its what is cool (which does form or at least warp, most peoples tastes), and they themselves start to produce this music. and yes a lot of techno does suck, but they are not posers. they just have strange taste. and that is why there is suck ridicule of emo.
