I broke my ankle (Talus) and tore the ligaments on the outside of my foot 7 weeks ago. Next week I will be full weight barring.
The hardest part I have found is getting movement back especially after being in a cast for about a month. I also wasn’t able to walk because I broke my femur in my opposite leg too.
I definitely recommend taking it easy till your orthopedist gives you weight barring clearance. When you are able to start moving your ankle do it as much as possible. My doctor recommended drawing the abc's 10 times a day or more. I also recommend finding a good physical therapist they will stretch your foot out and get you on a good workout regimen to come back quick.
Also you will be rocking “the boot” too I’m guessing, so find a nice little pimp cane and rep it!
