I'm just going to add on to what most everyone has already been saying.
I lived in North Dakota for nine months, it's by far my least favorite state in the US. You have to deal with sub-zero temperatures pretty much all winter long, the landscape is flat, and it's constantly windy. I've only been to Fargo twice and wasn't too impressed, but that's just how ND is. It's nice, because it's right next to Moorhead, and it's kind of like having a "twin cities" feel. Eventually, you're going to find out that 15,000 people in the student body really isn't that much. If your main priority is education, go for it, as long as you're okay with taking a big hit to the amount of days you can ski.
