I have a backyard rail made out of metal and summer setup but when its warm outside the rail isnt slippery at all i tried puting wax on it and it didnt really help. In the winter i just rub some snow onto it and its pretty slipperybut for the summer any suggestions?
Why is everyone saying not to make a rail out of metal? I'd rather hit a steel rail over pvc any day. Not that pvc doesn't work fine for backyard use but OP says he already has a metal rail.
If you throw water on your drop in to keep it slick spray a little bit on the rail. If it's dry it won't slide as well. If your drop in is wet it shouldn't be a huge problem though.
Not always. Some steel that you can buy is really soft and your edges will chew the shit out of it. Examples would be the skateboard rails that you can buy for $40.
Cold rolled steel is the stuff to use. It's hard, fast and slides great in any conditions. NB4 - that's what she said. Although, she would be right.
