Stupid question about dry base/no edges
So my skis are now two season old. I was skiing on Mt.Hood from mid September into the first week of June typically 4 days a week this past year. I maybe waxed 3 times the whole season. In the last month i was there i had an incredibly hard time sliding rails. Typically i could only slide them when it was raining out. This summer back in my hometown i have waxed several times to try and bring some life back into the base.
The second problem could be one of the underfoot is falling apart. No edge underfoot and no sidewall. Not sure how much this is affecting it as well. However its only one one side YOLO
So the main reason i made this thread is because we are about to start hitting urban here in week or so(bringing it back to 2003). Will my skis slide decent if i was to wax once a week and just let the wax soak in?
"I mean how much more could they weigh that really makes that big of a difference? Your legs are the strongest part of your body. It's the archer not the arrow my friend."
Try doing a hot scrape (scrape the ski as soon as you wax) this will help get rid of some of the shit etc off your base.
Wax again, leave over night... scrape.. Wax again leave until you need to use them again then scrape.
Should help bring life back into them...
as far as the no edges/sidewall... epoxy that shit up just to stop water getting in and ruining the skis completely...even if just using them for urban.. your dont want your core to rot.
