No more than $400. That's only if I really like it.
I really like this watch, but the brand (Farmfresh) is relatively new and i'm sort of skeptical of giving it a chance just yet. Anyways, so far it's the #1 pick. Had the Nixon at the bottom for 2 years and i'm sick of it now.
Sort of leaning towards a vintage inspired watch with a nice leather band. Anyone know any brands who make similar watched to the first one listed below?
I really actually like that watch Cirillo, I was looking at one for a while but it was out of my budget. I might have to pull the trigger on this one. Any advice on checking if pricing is accurate and if the watch is authentic?

I would check a few online watch sites and see what is goes for new. http://www.Jomashop.com is a good one to check. As far as authenticity, I wouldn't worry too much about fake tissots. They're probably out there but it's kind of like counter fitting dollar bills compared to hundreds.
You can ask the guy for references or if he has an ebay account with feedback but that's a pretty good forum when it comes to reputable people.

Thanks man! I'll definitely send the guy a message, I'm definitely looking into this one.
I picked this up last christmas for 350 I think. I love everything about it, its a an ecodrive so you never need a new battery, its radio updated overnight and you can change the time zone automatically to any timezone in the world. Plus its got a sapphire crystal so its impossible to scratch.

90% of watches these days come with sapphire crystal, and no it's not impossible to scratch it's hard sinds it's a 9 on Moh's scale, same class as corundum. The downside of that is, instead of flexing/getting scratched after a hard enough impact it will shatter and old plexiglass could just be polished to look like new again.
And when you crack sapphire crystal, minute fragments will find their way in your timepiece requiring a complete overhaul.
So be careful, never ever drop it on marble, hit marble, go near marble.
JAHpowI own a Tissot PRC 200 in leather. It's an absolutely beautiful watch and I get so many compliments on it. They are a very high quality watch.
Without trying to sound like a pedantic asshole, It's quartz, yes it's a Tissot, but then it can't be called high quality in terms of watches when we have so many other great mechanical movements in existence. Doesn't take anything away from the watch, you are obviously happy with it and that's the most important thing.
proZach^hey Lawrence any suggestions for something submergable to around 500m and be well suited to wear workin in a level one trauma ER? With a budget 1-2k?
Are you even allowed to wear watches in there? Ah well, not sure on the rules in other countries.
So regardless of that, your criteria are so vague that I could present thousands of different watches. And one is a bit arbitrary, why would you want it to be submergible to 500m? Anything beyond 300m is already entering a realm of specialist offshore oilfield drilling divers and practical factors make watch depth ratings of more than 1,000 m into marketing curiosities. Unless you are James Cameron, then you strap your "Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA CHALLENGE" on the outside of your submersible when visiting the Challenger Deep do note that that little fucker was anything but little, more like roughly the seize of Hertfordshire.
If you want a basic watch that is sturdy get a do get a diver but things are not that simple, there are tons of companies around the world who make them with quartz (forget those) and mechanical movements. Being a traditionalist I will say: SWISS above anything else but things are not that black and white and there are a few great timepieces made by non-Swiss companies.
The gold standard and above your budget is the venerable Rolex "Sub" (the nickname for Oyster Perpetual Submariner)
A 61-year old design and the most counterfeited watch in history. In addition also the most "borrowed" design by other companies. Hold the gold and diamond versions meant for silly posers and admire the simplicity of the original steel "base" model.
Also don’t buy new, buy vintage, they look better aged anyway.
And now I could begin to list 40 other watches with ease, all with their own merits and downfalls.
Do you want a chronograph, steel, PVD, ceramic, 38mm, 45mm, Swiss, auto, heritage, style….that list also goes on as far as they eye can see.
Take some time to dwell on watch sites such as Hodinkee, to figure out what you want, there is never one perfect watch, watches are also art and emotion – not just wrist gadgets that can be chosen by merely comparing specifications, for then you might as well get the Seiko SKX007K2, a soulless device meant to be nothing more then a Rolex clone for about 200 bucks.
Hey Lawrence, I just got a job with MI6 as a 00 agent. We are missing a "Q" and we need a standard watch upgrade as it hasn't been seriously upgraded since about 1996 during a mission to prevent an old soviet weapons satellite from going off. Please inquire with us as to any new ideas you may have for such a watch.

I read somewhere the atmospheres around 200ft depth are equivalent to being safe between 200-500m. This would essential be my "I'm not taking this off ever" watch, and scuba diving being a big hobby of mine, would necessitate a decent #. We are allowed to wear watches in the ED, I think it's even recommended due to having an easy to read second hand. That being said, this bad larry needs to be able to be cleaned easily haha.
and I understand my criteria was extraordinarily vague, but by you throwing out the options, I now know where to even begin to narrow down my choices. definitely appreciate the response, will be checkin out things and posting up in a few days

God save the queen.
I was already hired as the new Q, see that hair, that suit, that pretentiousness.
Oh damn did I just blew my secret identity to someone from SPECTRE?
