Surgery and school

Hey guys, I underwent surgery to remove my appendix last week and so far it has been killing me in school. I'm in my second year of university (first year in my new program though) taking calculus, linear algebra, physics and biology. Before I had surgery I was doing quite well in all of my classes, however because I need to recover I haven't been able to attend any classes for a week now and calculus is starting to kick my ass. To make it worse the pain killers I am taking, which I have been cutting down on but I still need them every once in a while, make me very light headed and spacy making it very hard to do homework and retain anything I read. I talked to registration, they suggested I drop some classes, however because of finances I really don't want to be forced into doing an extra semester of school. I am expected to miss 1-2 weeks of school.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this, if you guys have any online resources you could suggest or any other methods that could help, or just make me laugh.

tldr: I had surgery, have missed one week, will probably miss another week, struggling in a couple uni classes, anyone have suggestions on methods to help me stay on top of classes.

This last season I broke my jaw, and had 3 surgeries in 2 months. I had to withdraw from one class to lighten my load. Try talking to the school about withdrawing and getting refunded for your classes. They gave me this option but I didn't use it. Surgeries suck, good luck in school and have an easy recovery

Fractured my skull the first night I got to school (friday) with class starting that monday. Man up. Youre only letting it effect you because you have that mind set.

Blew my right knee 2nd year and left 3rd. Talk you your profs. If you were on top of things prior to your surgery, I would hope they would under stand the situation. Don't ask for a pass, but a way to meet with them one on one to go over any questions or notes that you are having issues with. In list the help of class mates, hopefully hot ones. See if anybody would let you copy class notes or find a tutor that can help you catch back up. If all else... those pain killers that make you loopy, toss em my way or sell them to bribe the prof. I shattered my thumb during spring break last year and had to have surgery and a cast. Talk with your professors, it was way to late in the year for me to drop, normally your professors are really helpful, they know it is out of your control. I had the same problem with my pain meds, they made me just want to sleep. But anyways ask for extensions and they'll work with you, one of my professors even gave me my final exam in the hallway just talking (I couldn't write). Good luck to you! It'll be over soon

Thanks for the reply guys. I have talked to my profs, most are quite helpful however I'm actually recovering at home. Yesterday was the first day I actually managed to walk so everything I've been doing has been from my bed.
