Well because I am quitting smoking cigarettes,of course. Its working extremely well for me also. The fact is it is all around a safer alternative to a regular cigarette. I have gone now 39 days without one. The great thing about it is, If you still want to smoke something, yet don't want the harmful effects of cigarettes then they are a great choice. I have to quit smoking because I am a type 1 diabetic... and cigs are obviously extremely detrimental to my health. I have tried other ways of quitting, but could not get over the oral fixation of the act of smoking a cigarette. Also the vast amount of flavors ranging from strawberry milk to oregano greatly disassociate yourself from the taste and smell of cigarettes. I have people tell me it smells good when I smoke around them now. You also ween yourself down to 0mg of nicotine, and theoretically speaking, not be addicted anymore. So yes, I guess some people may be doing to just do it because they think it is cool. I on the other hand am using it as a tool for my health. Not only have I changed my habit of smoking cigarettes, it has also helped out my friends and family. My girlfriend and I are 39 days without, my best friend is 32, and my mother and my girlfriends mother are a week in.

It's just a way to quit smoking, and it can deliver nicotine in a way that's very similar to smoking, but does't involve the hundred of fucked up chemicals in cigarette smoke.

I think he is talking about weed. I just got a good vape and its my favorite way of getting stoned. Coffee goes well with a morning vape bowl.

 How can you sit there and say they are HARDLY a safer alternative. Its pretty cut and dry dude, 4 ingredients vs. 4,000. The ignorance in your statement is astounding. You are correct on the fact that you could sit and vape for hours. That is not good for you. That could lead to nicotine poisoning. I understand how this might lead you to believe that you can become more addicted to nicotine through the process, on the other hand I have weened myself down from 24 mg nicotine e-juice, to 12mg. I do not sit there and vape constantly either, On average 1.5 ml of e-juice is equal to about a full pack of cigs worth of nicotine. I have "tanks" that hold 1.6 - 3ml of liquid. 1.6ml of e-liquid is usually equal to around a pack of cigs. Like I said its not full proof though, it is for someone who wants to smoke something still yet does not want to smoke a combustion cigarette. I was a smoker for 6 1/2 years, and like I said have tried other ways of quitting. Going cold turkey was not an option. There is no doubt in my mind that it is safer than chew, or cigs, and I hope you don't actually give the advice you just gave me to everyone. Before I even decided I wanted to try e-cigs I did my research, and yes, a lot of information and long term effects are still up in the air. But I took the obvious choice for my health in the long run. I can tell you right now I don't wake up coughing up shit anymore, I have more energy every day since I have quit plus I don't smell like cigarettes anymore. Until there is conclusive evidence that they are more of a danger than tobacco then I wont stop vaping.

I'll admit I stopped reading half way thru.. I agree with taj though..it does shit toward anybody quitting. Of course the companies making the ecigs claim it can help you quit. Youare getting fooled into lining their pockets.

I smoked cigs for 6 years.. toward the end it was close to two packs a day. The ecig for me was a place holder.. it fueled the addiction.

The only way to quit is to be ready to quit. No excuses. Form new habits.

I've got a huge jar of mints that I clear out in a week, then re-stock. To cut that habit out I've been eating ice cubes instead and like it. It's crunchy water. CRUNCHY WATER FOR FUCKS SAKE! Isn't that amazing?

i vary between a pack a day, a pack every 2-4 days and have quit for various reasons a few times for lengthy periods of time, always been able to do that with drugs, i will want them but if i really dont wanna do it and stay clean i wont.  def smoke more when on drugs/drinking.... and have smoked for 5ish years

I agreed it is not the surest way to quit, I am not trying to convince that. Im saying It is a better alternative to a combustion cigarette. And it can be used as a tool for quitting. I have weaned myself down? how is that not working? I have no need or thought for a cigarette. You say form new habits but e-cigs are new habits. Also what type of e-cig were you using? If it was an analog, like Blu or Enjoy... then you have no place even speaking on behalf of vaping. I stand tried and true by these devices. And can tell you I will never smoke another cigarette again.

first things first, that first post was a joke....kind of like hookers and blow. now that we've got that out of the way, research has shown that addiction can occur within days, not years of nicotine use. some people are also more susceptible to nicotine addiction than others, so just because you didn't have any physical side effects doesn't mean that everyone is so lucky.

i have a good friend who is the same way. he can smoke and smoke when we're partying, and then just put them down for days on end. me, not so much.

and to answer the thread seriously, my only physical addiction is nicotine. thank god for the ecig so i'm not sucking down a pack a day. cigarettes are the one thing in life that i regret ever trying. i wish i never would have picked up that first one.
