In the past couple years I've been getting into coding,(Java,HTML, Python, and Lua) and was just wondering how many other nsers code?

What projects have you made?

What languages do you code in?

Interesting, I've never heard out of it.

is it challenging?

and @TimeWasted I used to know nothing about coding and I never understood any of it, it's really a great hobby/job, there's basically no limits to what you can code

ALSO, if you code on lua/java or python, there are about 15 different coding apps:

iPad-Codea, runs lua(like java) and is the best coding app I know, I use to code apps for the app store
$9.99 (Probably the best well spent $9.99 on an app)

iPad/iPhone-Pythonista, uses Python, I personally don't have the app, but it definitely sounds interesting and a pretty good source of a program
$6.99

iPad-Kodiak PHP or Kodiak JS, runs javascript and I personally don't own the app
$IDK

There's a full list of coding apps on the Codea forums, but I can't seem to find it, I'll post it if I do.

Too al the coding wizards, how hard would it be to make a program that will automatically and swiftly add a specific iteam to a shipping cart online? If I wasn't able to figure out I'd gladly pay someone to do it if it wasn't too challenging

I'm not quite sure what you're asking.

Do you mean when you click on a shopping cart item it adds it to your cart? I could do that, I don't want money, it's too simple

I would vote to keep it all on one thread. I use a lot of SQL and C# and would love to have a central place to keep it all. I spent a solid day reading through the other thread and hoped more people would contribute. Just my thoughts though.

We use SSRS at my work-- whether writing select statements and other commands from scratch or otherwise-- we also use crystal reports.

I know pretty basic html/css and some php and javscript shit, but not super experienced. I've made a few websites, did one for an advanced web class with all html/css/java but i made my own personal website with wordpress/php.

well, whatever. The OP asked what programming languages we knew or used. I know/use SQL sometimes at work. We are forced to use SSRS in conjunction with our main software suite in which we are not self-hosted.

Also, FYI-- my job title does not have 'bla bla developer' in it, so I can hold my head high with the little that I do know :)

thanks man....its actually somewhat thread related...software specialist for a resort in tahoe...some SQL queries but mostly just software administration

they are going to make me an offer i just need to decide if i want to move...life man

Debate able, I personally don't code SQL but I'm pretty sure it constitutes coding. Even in high school in CIM we did really really simple "coding" to move robot arms, and it was still considered coding

It wasn't that SQL isn't coding, if you're straight up writing SQL, then yes it is. But there are GUIs that have a general input interface and it will write the true query for you based on your filtered options. Hence, SSRS.

Also, this isn't hate on snobunny because the only mentioned SSRS amongst several legitimate languages, I was just adding to Obamaphone's statement.

I say go for it. That sounds like a solid title and if management is where you want to be, anything with Administration is great.

Also, I grew up in Tahoe and you can't go wrong.

I was always wondering how you made shred sauce, what program do you use? And how many lines of code is it?? When I'm good enough and learn 3D I'll try to make a version for iPad, but that won't be too soon

Well we write SQL using SQL server management studio. We just also bring our select statements/queries over to SSRS so that we can add the jazzy stuff for end users-- graphs, etc. and alter formatting to be more user friendly. Again- I'm not a developer/programmer by title, though.

No, I'm an MIS major. Typically the major that is hated on by CS majors, but whatever, it's what is needed at my current employer so I'm going that route. I act as our webmaster and database report developer but lately they have me working on these BI dashboards. I work for the government so they don't have any money to hire consultants, so I pretty much just teach myself and as I learn I roll out new things which pretty much guarantee to impress at my work which is nice.
