a lot of companies (all the biggest ones) like dynastar, salomon, rossi, head, ect. are made in europe. it's the same as in any other industry. if someone wants to support the us, they buy a ford or chevy or something. since i cant afford to buy a new car, i will buy some 4frnts.
ever been to the european factories? They are in ghetto's with pretty low standards of living that are hard to find and capitilize on in the US. so K2 goes to china, who cares, it still flows plenty of $$ into the US economy as that is where K2 pays tax's. and how many people work in a ski factory? a few dozen... maybe thats stretching it... and it means the skiis are able to be more competetively priced.
Go get a confederate flag tattood on your back or something
^ yeah many skis are made in polen and such.. but still you both see and feel a differense beetween the ones that are made there and the ones that are made in austria etc.
But mostly they only make the cheaper skis in the different segments in those type of factorys.
^^ god, learn a little grammar. education is free in the country. fucking pay attention.
and when you say 'fuck ski companies' cause some things are made in china, you should really say 'fuck pretty much everything i own' because i bet all of your clothes, shoes, etc are made somewhere in asia.
I think you'd be surprised at how many people care. But, the American cannot possibly pay higher prices for domestically manufactured goods. The cost of paying laborers in the US at minimum wage for the same service in China is so much more that it would force them to raise prices higher. Its impractical for a business to do so, except for dedicated core freeskiing companies, cause its cool.

i can tell u this...liberty, ninthward, 4frnt, and factions are all made in the us. support them. im not saying companies like k2 are bad but i mean, skiing is trying to get bigger and we need more companies.
We're all chasing the dream
What does that mean, there are no illegal in those countries. The solution is corporate responsibility, and not going to some 3rd world nation to make all our shit. Its cheaper but it has a negative impact on our whole society.
if your saying F ski companies then apply it to cars man! we should no longer allow the sale of volvo, porsche, mercedes, bmw, toyota, honda, audi, volkswagon, mazda, ferrarii.....HEY its the ski manufacturers choice as to where they make theyre ski...most the companies arnt even AMERICAN, so why should they move to the US just so you can be patriotic? ps the europeans make better cars than us
yeah man why not make a product where the operations will be cheaper. believe me 4frnt and faction will move to other countrys for cheaper product its just that they are not big enough too yet. Companys which employee the 3rd world arent making a bad impact on society they are helping develop a global market. A country like thailand pays there workers 3 to 7 dollars a day, if another country decides to go in and build a factory they are creating alot of jobs and these people will be paid more then a minimum because the more companies moving intot he country the more the government will set the minimum wage at. these people then have new income which they spend in their own country therefore helping others in their country, which is not a bad thing. why do you think china is becoming a major player in todays economy, becuase they have the cheap labour and mass populations to do so. take an intro level business course before you shit on cheap labour again.
WHERE ARE YOU HOIET
why the hell is everyone saying that faction is american. is it because they are core. and only americans can make cool core companies. if europeans do that then they arent core and they are just trying to reap benfites off the ski industry. FACTION IS EUROPEAN.

i got in a car crash, got shot at,and attacked by a fucking bobcat. cross country is boring.
Okay people, here's the gig... If you manufacture in the U.S. the price isn't just a little more, it's a lot more. For a young company to manufacture domestically means that they have to EAT IT on their profits. Eight out of ten young businesses in the U.S. fail. To plan on manufacturing domestically in the long term is to commit financial suicide because there aren't enough of you buying strictly domestic product to support a fledgeling business. Maybe it's cool to produce in the U.S. but is it cool to go out of business? In the name of cool? If these small companies who manufacture in the U.S. actually survive more than a few years, they will be finding producting in China. Plus, dudes, the Chinese need the labor way more than we do. Those who work in the factories are lucky because they have a job. As a result, the quality is much better and the price is much lower. Sorry skeptics, but that's how it is.
I'm feeling a bit less patriotic than usual since W. got re-elected :(
