I had to jump in on the Wallisch Project thread posts. After watching that video, I've really been thinking about Tom doing solo projects each year, but making them full length movies. Maybe inviting some other skiers along to film. Just a thought. What do you think?
I'd like to see another movie like this but 3-4 parts with different athletes and then sold an a whole movie too.
The WP movie was just missing one thing for me, it felt disconnected. If that segment was at the end of a l1p movie it wouldve been insane, but they wouldve never got that many shots filming with another company.
It was great skiing, but felt kind of empty standing alone. I really liked Tanners movie's and their formats where he had the main parts, but had other guys ripping as well, it would be super cool to see stuff like that done in the future.
I think the idea of solo projects is kind of weird. The only real thing solo the wallisch project is that wally was the only skier but he was almost always filming with other skiers. The idea of filming two guys and having each of their shots go to different movies seems weird.
I am super stoked for that film. PBP and MSP are really trying to explore the ideas of different types of ski films. MSP being theyre doing a 2 year project and PBP being theyre doing a really athlete based segmented movie.
I think people/riders who make films together should be more than just a sponsors pair. Good things come from tight knit groups like Stept and 4bi9. One reason PBP has been not so great the past few years is because its just a random mashed up group.
