I just started making some rap beats and everyone I've showed them to so far tells me they're alright, can I get some candid feedback form anyone. +k for people who subscribe
They could be better if you add more layers of strings, but the build up is great. The sampling of the piano and strings really add a climactic element to the piece. The synths are a nice touch too. The drums are a little generic, it would be nice to spice it up with a snare or hi-hat, other than just a kick drum and a clap. Overall it was pretty good. What equiptment / software did you use to make this?
bit too repetitive in my opinion, maybe have a bigger build up with the strings (and end up with a full orchestra sound). Could had some more complex drums (doubles on bass drum is always nice) and some kind of fills at the end of sequences. Overall its pretty sick tho, what software u use?
WellI didn't mean mpc specifically, I meant a midi controller. This one is like a hundred, and you can find controllers on ebay for super cheap. I would look into investing in one, it will step up your production SO much.
Sounds l great for a start, definitely make sure you are using all of the sonic space though, it sounds like there is a lot of sound in the low-mid end but nothing in the high end. When mastering try and add some brightness to the track, some snares and hi hats could help as well.
