I held my breath for 2 minutes.

I have a way that makes it so easy, Im sure most of you know it, but you jst hyperventilate for like 1 minute and then I held my breath for 2 minutes easy, it was cool. Plus im small, I have small lung capacity, I think I might work my way up to like 3 minutes.

well, yeah, i can get a min and change........

anyway, about the bends, you CAN'T get it from a surface dive. the bends comes from the compressed oxygen in scuba tanks.......

when you breathe in at the surface, then dive, the water pressure compresseses that air in your lungs, and then decompresses it to normal pressure when you surface. but, when you breathe in compressed air from a tank underwater, that's forcing more air into your lungs than would normally be in there at that depth. when you surface too quickly w/ compressed air, it expands past the point of normal surface level pressure, and creates bubbles in your blood.

If you want something really hard, try holding your breath and running. We were running 400's a X-C practice one day, and we all tried to do one while holding our breaths. Frickin' Impossible!

i can do 2 also hypervenalating is great you feel like your gonna pass out then you can hold your breath forever

yea, i have the article from SI right in front of me now. its actually the june 16th, 2003 issue (really shows you how i hold to things eh). it talks about how this deep divers dived to ridiculous depths (like more than 500ft). they hold on to a heavy sled on the way down (which took 2mins) and then they had to swim up 500ft. they;d have to hold their breath for more than 8-9mins, sometimes even 10.
