Damn, I knew moonlight would get bought one day. Definitely a good thing IMO and maybe since they'll have such a huge mountain with even more potential for profit their college pass will be the same price or cheaper (BS of course, not moonlight).

Shut up scott, moonlight and big sky have been partners since 2006 but this is the first time they have acquired moonlight in a purchase.

pretty sure that's referring to the "biggest skiing in america" ticket which has been in existence for a few years and combines big sky and moonlight for a higher price


all I can say is I'm pumped to ski moonlight for free as well. and to see some of the moonlight kids on swifty.

You're taking this so far past reality scott, they released a special ticket/season pass you could buy that accessed both resorts "technically" creating the largest skiing in the USA (note whistler is larger at ~8k acres). This current news is bigsky actually buying moonlight, so when you buy a BS pass, you can ski all the way back to moonlights terrain.

Now the real question is, who's gonna ski every lift in one day, drinking a beer on every lift? haha

@ 4.2% for coors light. (of course) thats 11.592 ounces of alchol. OR ~15.456 shots of 100 proof alcohol
from 9 to 4 (7 hours)
3.28 beers/hr

the biggest draw to bridger is how much quality terrain you can ski. You can go for a few hours between classes or work, and while big sky has better tram accessed terrain, i would say bridger has more acres of terrain worth skiing. Big Light Basin (tm) is going to be sick, but bridger is just as much fun. I always say Big Sky on a pow day, Bridger for the next week after.

I think this is a good thing for the town of Big Sky. It sounds like if you have purchased a Moonlight pass already, it will still work for just moonlight. You will have the option to upgrade it to include big sky for the cheapest price ever. They also purchased Spanish Peaks. Boyne will run the mountain operations of everything while Cross Harbor who owns the YC will manage the golf courses and real estate.

I saw this! I think its nothing but good for Big Sky. I've been going there for a week the past few years and it's just unreal the size of it alone, and then add on Moonlight and it'll get crazy. Big Sky rocks!

this actually sucks, moonlight was always super chill and laid back. If they take out the moonlight park that wou;ld blow...is big skys park crew running that shit? I fucking hope not.

This is still pretty cool. It seems as if these mega-resorts are the thing of the future. Squallypine (Squaw + Alpine) is still larger with over 6,000 skiable acres though.i This will also increase in the coming years when the property in between known as Whitewolf becomes part of the resort (in some capacity) as well.
