Any serious advice for a Beginner/Intermediate to improve freestyle abilities?

Hey NS, I've been wondering what's the best way for someone to make decent gains in their freestyle ability when they are at a low level Unfortunately I don't get to ski as much as I would love to since the closest mountain is 400 miles away and my parental units don't like to take me that often, that coupled with the fact that I'm a total pussy is totally standing in my way of actually getting better. My main question is how can I make the most use out of the few days I get per season to ski (probably 10-12 days at best) so that I can build my freestyle abilities? Not sure if I should pay for a few lessons or just grow a sack and huck some tricks, ignoring the trashing I'm probably going to get. Any advice would be appreciated.

Strength and Conditioning - Probably the best thing you can do in your spare time. Can improve your skiing ability whilst also protecting you from injury

Core Workouts - Helps avoid back injuries, increased control over rotation, and increased strength in general skiing

Leg Workouts - More control and protects you from busting your knee's

Stretching Before Skiing - Surprisingly helped me SO much this year. I have had no problems with anything and it makes you feel good whilst skiing




Diet

Coffee/Red Bull before you go skiing - Works for me

Big Breakfast - When you are hungry, you are tired. When you are tired, you risk injury

Sleep - " "

Try other sports that will improve your balance like skateboarding.

Get a trampoline or make friends with someone that has one and learn flips and spins.

When you do make it to hill ski with someone better then you or a girl.

Watch endless hours of ski videos and edits.

Make a home rail setup that you can session.

Take steroids.

Find trap hoes.

Work on skiing the whole mountain (pow, bumps, trees, steeps, etc.) because it will make you such a better skier and you will do so much better in the park

I would take a lesson or two not to learn park, bit to learn skiing in general. Once you become a competent skier outside the parks it will be so much easier to progress inside the park.

Oh I should have mentioned that I am a beginner/intermediate at park only, I'm a very skilled skier when it comes to non park terrain. I guess I just need to chug a monster and just huck some tricks and pray for the best

You just gotta get yourself to try new stuff on skis almost every day you go out, and you will do much better.

Accept your going to get hurt. It's temporary.

The only thing that gets you better at skiing is skiing.
Other things can help but the best thing to do is ski as much as you can.

Lessons are great. Summercamp is the single greatest place to learn shit about this sport. Pick your camp, save your dollars and go.

POP.

Nothing... NOTHING helps you more than a good strong pop when you hit a jump. Its the fundamentals of everything. If you are finding yourself totally sucking ass on jumps, stop everything and just try hitting a jump and have a god strong pop. Pop just means jumping like you're shooting a basketball when you hit the lip of the jump.

Good pop is the key to everything when you're hitting jumps. You can unlearn it later, but just consider it law when you're starting.

oh well, that's kinda hard when you don't practice it on field. But just try to think positive ways. try to learn
boarding instead! You can use a skateboard to practice in park. You can still improve freestyle abilities from it.
